EARLY 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL; acrylic on canvas, a half-length portrait of a gentleman wearing a powdered wig and holding the white Rose of Yorkshire, purported to be Christopher Friary of Yorkshire, in a decorative gilt frame, 75 x 61.5cm. CONDITION REPORT Badly crazed with some paint loss around the edges and scratches to centre, minor areas of paint loss to portrait itself. Loose in frame, the frame has been over painted.
19TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL; a pair of oils on canvas, half-length portraits of a gentleman and lady, each 37 x 30cm, in gilt frames (af) (2). CONDITION REPORT The portrait of a lady has extensive damage, large rips and a hole around the face, crackling. You can see the stretcher marks through the canvas, various scratches, previous repair to back of canvas. The gentleman has emulsion splashes, crackles, discoloured. You can see the stretcher marks through the canvas, it is loose in the frame.
ERNEST WANTE (1872-1960); oil on canvas, portrait of an officer, signed top right, dated 1916, 55 x 44cm. CONDITION REPORT The frame has chips to corners and loss of gilt to edges. The canvas has a small area of paint loss to cheek and breast pocket, marks to canvas above head and small area in background. Raised area to top right.

EDMOND VAN HOVE (Belgian, 1851-1913); oil on panel, 'Un en Lumineur', half-length portrait of an illuminator in front of his work, signed and dated 1883 to top right corner, signed, titled and dated verso, 72.5 x 58cm, unframed, with metal mounts. CONDITION REPORT Crackled/crazed, minor paint loss to edges. Some emulsion paint splashes on the picture and some varnished loss to various areas of the painting.

Attributed to Dod Procter RA (1891-1972) a South Asian portrait, oil on canvas, framed unglazed, internal dimensions 74cm x 38cm, otherwise known as Doris Margaret Shaw, it is possible that this painting could have arisen from Procter's period spent working under commission on the murals of a palace in China, when her patronage was lost, she painted the local people, the canvas has no signature but two monograms in opposing top and bottom corners, to the reverse on the mount the words 'Dod Procter 1919/1920', provenance: deceased estate of private Asian art collector *ARR may apply to this lot
