Circle of George Chinnery [1774-1852]- Miniature portrait of a young officer, said to be Francis Rawden-Hastings, Earl of Moira, Governor General of India 1813-1822:- head and shoulders oval, 6.5cm, on ivory. * Notes. The sitter, who was born in Ireland, was a close friend to the Prince of Wales. The attribution of the sitter is from descendents of the present owner and while no images of the young Earl are readily available, the likeness compares well to images of an older Earl.
Thomas Barber [1768-1843]- Portrait of Reverend Henry Leonard Adams [b.1798] bust length:- signed, inscribed and dated 1838 on the reverse oil on canvas 59 x 49cm, together with a portrait attributed to Barber of Captain James Scott [b.1793] [2] * Notes. Captain James Scott commanded the brigantine 'Britain's Pride' of the Wilson Line. On one voyage he rescued the Crown Prince of Portugal from drowning in the river Tagus, for which he was rewarded with a ring.
A Wedgwood sage jasper ware portrait plaque Viscount Horatio Nelson: modelled after the original by John de Vaere, in profile, shortly after losing his right arm, wearing naval uniform and the star and sash of a Knight of Bath, impressed upper case mark, partially obscured, late 18th or early 19th century, oval 11 cm high, mounted in a velvet mounted hinged display case with an oak and acorn carved fruit wood frame.

Vintage unsigned cabinet photograph by Alexander Bassano of London, the unusual image depicting the Queen in a full length pose accompanied by two of her young grandchildren, Princess Margaret of Connaught (1882-1920, Crown Princess of Sweden, daughter of Prince Arthur of Connaught) and Prince Arthur of Connaught (1883-1938, British Military officer and Governor-General of the Union of South Africa 1920-24, son of Prince Arthur of Connaught). Photographer's imprint to the lower mount and with a plain verso. Sonia Handford (1925-2010): Portrait of the artist's daughter, oil on board, 125 x 82 cm. Provenance: The artist's daughter. Note: Born to Russian Jewish parents who settled in England in the early 1900s, Sonia Handford was educated at Clapham County Girls’ Grammar School, and later at Wimbledon School of Art (1942-1945) under Lionel Ellis (1903-1988) where she received the ‘Painting with Merit’ award. She travelled widely during her life, beginning with France, Spain, Italy and Greece and later to Egypt, Russia, and the U.S.A. and exhibited at Wandsworth Town Hall (1963), Moriarty’s Wine Bar, West Hampstead (1989) and Shaftesbury Arts Centre (2004). She also had an extensive teaching career at Sydenham School for Girls, Whitechapel Art Gallery, Balls Park College of Education, St. Albans School for Boys and Hampstead Comprehensive. Major influences on her work include: Picasso, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Cezanne and Van Gogh.
