MONTBLANC FOUNTAIN PEN "THE BEATLES".Barrel in coloured lacquer.Two-tone 14 Kts. gold nib, ruthenium-plated.Limited edition. No box.Measurements: 14.5 cm in length; 16.19 mm in diameter. The Beatles are considered one of the most famous rock bands of all time. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the most prominent and influential act of the rock era. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as 'Beatlemania'. As the group's music grew in sophistication, led by principal songwriters Lennon and McCartney, they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideas shared by the 1960s counterculture. The cone is inspired by the button on the mixing desk at the famous Abbey Road Studios, while the top cap is inspired by the studio's microphone. The clip symbolises the Beatles' iconic moustache in their portrait. The coloured stripes on the lacquered cap and body pay homage to the outfits they wore on the album covers of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'Love Me Do'. It features the traditional white house star on the top of the hood. The nib, hand-crafted in Au 585/14 Kts. gold, is specially engraved and ruthenium-plated.
