(50 x 43cm.) .* Provenance: Christie's, South Kensington, 01.02.90, Lot 99** Condition: Canvas has been lined. Visually in clean, gallery condition. Examined under UV - vertical repaired split to top centre in hair. Small repair / retouch to eye. Some strengthening evident under UV to hair and foliage to left hand side. A patch of overpainting visible below the scarf, just above flowers, some visible to hand in foreground and a little to lower left cheek. Signature good.

A matched pair of French porcelain and ormolu columnar lamps, third quarter 19th century, with tapering cylindrical upper section painted with blue grisaille oval portrait medallions amongst pink strapwork and foliage, the domed cylindrical base painted with cherubs in ovals, 23in. (58.5cm.) high plus fittings, adapted for electricity, with pleated silk shades. (2)
