CONDITION REPORT There are some white marks to the canvas, one on her thumb, one central top with a slight indentation to the canvas on each mark, a scratch middle of the painting with white mark, another above her lip, a scratch across her necklace.

CONDITION REPORT Colours have faded and there is staining throughout. The image also has a large number of creases throughout and some staining, especially to the lower section. However this is a rare and seldom-seen poster.

She is best known as Lady Elizabeth Foster, the close friend of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Elizabeth supplanted the Duchess, gaining the affections of William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire, and later marrying him. Several of her letters are preserved.
