Thomas van der Wilt (Dutch, 1659-1733), Portrait of Johanna van Groenewegen-Staal (1684-1736), three-quarter length, seated in a blue dress and yellow wrap, a mountainous river landscape with a castle beyond; and Portrait of Juliaan van Groenewegen (1671-1739), three-quarter length, seated, in an ochre costume, a chemise with a white jabot and a red wrap, a country house in the background, the first signed lower left "T vandr Wilt", the second signed and dated lower left "T vandr. Wilt 1715", signed and inscribed, both with Coats-of-Arms of the family upper left and lower right, and both with old inventory numbers "103" and "104" and the brush marks of a bear on the reverse, oil on canvas, 62 x 52cm (24.18 x 20.28in), a pair (2). Provenance: By descent within the family since the early 18th Century. Private collection, UK.
