A circa 1800 marquetry inlaid mahogany commode in the Louis XVI taste, the top decorated with birds and butterflies amongst blossoming foliage and with beaded edge, the breakfront with three long drawers each decorated with vases of flowers and with circular pierced brass and wreath decorated handles flanked by canted corners with applied gilt brass mounts as rams heads and portrait bust medallions within ropework swags, the sides inlaid with vases of flowers, birds and mythical beasts above a shaped apron to square tapered cabriole front legs and gilt metal mounted sabots, 113 cm wide x 94 cm high x 55.5 cm deep.
