Sidney Watts White [19/20th Century]- Portrait of Flight Lt. Arthur Watts Williams, R.N., three quarter length standing: and a portrait of his mother Mrs Fanny S Williams:- a pair, both signed and dated 1917, both signed and inscribed on an artist's label attached to the stretchers and with studio address at 5 Logan Place, Kensington, W8, oils on canvas, each 126 x 80cm. [2] * Notes. The small walnut table shown in the painting of Mrs Williams is sold with these portraits. A DFC medal group to Flight Lt. A W Williams R.N. will be offered in our Militaria Sale on Wednesday 25 March 2015.
Attributed to George Engleheart [175101829] - Miniature portrait of George Hay [1753-1804], 7th Marquess of Tweeddale:- head and shoulders with powdered hair and wearing a navy blue coat, sky back ground, oval, 7cm, in a gold frame inscribed and dated 1804 to the reverse. * Notes. George Hay was a great-grandson of the 2nd Marquess of Tweeddale, and in 1787 he inherited the title of his first cousin once-removed, the 6th Marquess. He then became a Burgess of Edinburgh a year later, Lord Lieutenant of Haddingtonshire in 1794, and a Scottish representative peer in 1796. On 18 April 1785, he married Lady Hannah Maitland (a daughter of the 7th Earl of Lauderdale). As a result of the marquess's declining health, he and his wife went to France in 1802. It was here that they were captured by Napoleon's police when war was renewed between the two countries. They were imprisoned in the fortress at Verdun and the marchioness died there on 8 May 1804, as did the marquess during the following August.
David J Pennicuick, British Provincial School, 19th century- Portrait of Robert Burns standing full-length in a landscape with a dog by a gate; oil on canvas, bears inscribed label attached to the reverse of the frame, 61x51cm CONDITION REPORT: Gilt composition frame has been over painted with gold coloured paint There is evidence of old damages and repairs to the frame Canvas has not been re-lined Wooden stretcher appears to be the original Canvas is much browned and stained on he reverse The paint surface is subject to bar marks and is loose on the stretcher The left-hand side of the canvas shows evidence of much over painting and restoration There are small brown spots on the paint surface throughout The paint surface has been re-varnished in recent years Under inspection with uv lamp there is evidence of over painting along the top edge, the upper left hand side and the lower left section of the subject's coat Overall in fair to good condition

A late 1970's pastel portrait painting of Salvador Dali capturing a typically quirky image of the artist wearing a red and black night cap. To the side of his face are flashes in colours of pink, yellow and white. The picture is presented in a black ribbed frame with gilded detail and a sticker to the reverse for the Association of London Artists.
