Includes Portrait Gallery etc. Slight damage to corners, minor scuffs, slight ageing to edges of pages, occasional minor tear. Fair-generally good

Includes portrait gallery etc. Slight scuffing to corners of the binding. Generally good
19th Century three quarter length portrait depicting Constance Demain Saunders daughter of Henry Wilson Demain Saunders and Minna Edenborough, the young lady wearing a cream gown and adorned with jewellery, (the silver bangle lot 250), in front of an Arts & Crafts background, oil on canvas, 81cm x 96cm, unsigned, gilt swept frame. CONDITION REPORT - slight paint splashes from a careless decorator, indentation to top left corner but does not penentrate through the canvas, loss of paint to forehead of girl, craquelure throughout, frame appears to be original. PROVENANCE - sold on behalf of family member.
ORDER OF THE REDEEMER Commander's Cross, 2nd Type, instituted in 1833. Neck Badge, 74x47 mm, GOLD and enamels by "Lemaitre, Paris", centre medallion with portrait of Christ, blue enameled reverse medallion, with white cross in the centre, surrounded by Greek inscription in gold lettering, suspension crown linked to the cross with the typical loop and thin hinge, ring and loop, original neck ribbon. A superb piece, of beautiful style, in extremely fine condition! I
Beautiful and delicate miniature, oil on canvas stucked on wood Dimensions 6x5 cm, portrait of a Russian officer, indistinct or fanciful medals (we can still see the Cross of the Order of St. Anne) on the uniform, number "2" on the collar of jacket for the battalion, acute facial expression and superb definition of the hair, very fresh&nice execution of a talented painter in the style of Louis LEopold Boilly, beginning 19th Century.

ORDER OF CULTURAL MERIT, 1931 Knight’s Badge, 1st model, 40 mm, Silver, hallmarked "ARG", maker’s mark "RESCH, 343-36", on obverse the portrait of King Carol II, on reverse the order`s legend “Prin cultura la libertate” (“Through Culture Toward Liberty”). Original suspension ring with ribbon for merit in the cultural sphere. Rare and extremely fine! I R!

Breast Badge, 40 mm, GOLD, with enameled details, centre medallion in patinated silver, with the portrait of Lenin; the reverse with “МОНДВОР” mark and impressed number “1267”; original, screwback suspension. The important group of orders and decorations belonged to Georgy Grigorjevich Zhoganov Suvorov Order 3rd Class. Breast Badge, 80x50 mm, Silver, early type with screwback suspension bar, separately-made centre medallion, with red enameled border; the reverse, with three rivets securing the obverse medallion and a vertical, broad stickpin, the lower right ray, engraved with no. 224 (McDaniel-Schmitt, Type 1, Variation 1). Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class. Breast Badge, 47 mm, Silver, enameled, separately-made hammer-and-sickle in GOLD, the reverse engraved with no. 478468, mint mark and original, screwback suspension, Order of the Red Star. Breast Badge, 47 mm, Silver, red enamel, the reverse engraved with no. 56120, mint mark and original, screwback suspension. Medal bar with five decorations: Order of the Red Banner (missing, but present a silver plate drilled for mounting a pre-1943, screwback piece); Medal for Courage, Silver and red enameled details, the reverse, struck with no. 174007; Medal for Military Merit, Silver and reed enameled details, the reverse, struck with no. 235073; Medal for the Defense of Moscow, Brass; Medal for the Victory over Germany, Brass; all mounted for wear, with original ribbons on the original, aluminium base-plate with horizontal pin. “Ordenskaya Knizhka” with picture portrait of Zhoganov, wearing the uniform of a Guard’s lieutenant colonel, wearing all the mentioned orders (including the Suvorov with suspension bar), inscribed with all the numbered awards, dated March 8th 1947 (started in December 1942). Medal for the 40th Anniversary of the Victory, type for labourers (perhaps belonged to a member of Zhoganov’s family; brass, with original ribbon on its original plate. A highly interesting and rare group, belonged to a brave officer of the Red Army; extremely fine to excellent condition. I-II RR!
