A pair of 18th century portrait of a gentleman and a lady, each finely attired, half length, inscribed in pencil verso Reverend John James and Mrs Reverend John James, mounted oval. 31 cm x 24 cm. CONDITION REPORT: These are oil paintings on tin. They are in generally good order with only minor surface marks and the odd scratch. The frames are both a little tired. The female figure frame has four old breaks and some losses to the gilding but is serviceable. The male figure frame is in better condition but does have some minor losses and stress fractures.
19th century Scottish School "Alexander, 5th Earl of Glencairn", three quarter length profile portrait, the canvas inscribed top right beneath an armorial Alexander 5th Earl of Glencairn obit: 1574, an ink inscribed label verso "The Good Earl... friend of Knox", unsigned, oil on canvas. 128 cm x 102 cm. Mounted within an ornate gilt frame (see illustration).

A pair of 19th century portrait miniatures on ivory, one depicting a young boy holding a British single masted sailing ship, the other depicting a young girl holding a kitten, 7cm x 9cm each, gilt swept frames, 15cm x 17cm. Condition - the portrait of the boy indistinctly signed and also has a crack running right through, no further damage, general wear to frames to include losses.
