Photographs An excellent collection of photographs recording a round-the-world trip, commencing London, Apr 1884, on the SS Carthage. Some very interesting, good quality topographic and ethnographic images laid down in an album, comprising the SS Carthage, Malta (4), Suez (3), Ceylon (18), Australia (17 including 5 unusual blue printed images), New Zealand (21), Fiji (17), Samoa (9), Tonga (8), Honolulu (3), California including Yosemite (15), Utah, Colorado (6), Niagara (2), Montreal (3) & Boston, various sizes up to 220mm x 278mm. Loosely inserted are 7 further images, including a Calabash carrier and a portrait of an Hawaiian girl. The album is disbound and the spine split into two. Also includes a wooden tube containing 4 photographs of China dated 1889 verso, including 2 views and 1 image of what appears to be punishment in Shanghai

A Victorian rose diamond, half pearl set and blue enamelled pendant locket of circular form, the front with a tassel drop, a pair of filigree hatpins with three filigree drops to each, a shell cameo pendant carved as the portrait of a lady, nine brooches and pins, four stick pins, a silver pendant formed as a violin (previously a brooch), Birmingham 1900, and six further items.
A silver gilt medallion, the obverse with the portrait of George IV with `1820` beneath the bust, the reverse detailed `Society of Patrons of Charity Schools Instituted 1700`, the rim hallmarked London 1866, mounted for wear with a suspension, blue ribbon and pin, together with a further silver example, not gilt or hallmarked, with a clip fitted to the top (the suspension bar lacking).
A Continental porcelain circular charger, circa 1900, the centre printed with a sepia portrait of a seated figure, probably an Indian Prince, within a grey/blue ground rim gilt with grotesque masks within scrolling foliage, impressed `3` to reverse, diameter approx 35cm (scratches, losses to gilding).
A finely painted English porcelain portrait plaque, probably Derby, dated May 1824, painted by William Corden, signed, with a half length portrait of Major General Geve(?), held within a rosewood frame, inscribed to the reverse `Major Genl Geve = Dictt/Wm Corden Pinxit May 1824`, dimensions approx 11.5cm x 9cm.
Colin Gill (1892-1940), A Portrait of Carline Henderson, Aged 10 or 11, signed l.r., red Conté, 30cm x 25cm Colin Gill, 1892-1940, a decorative and genre painter, born in Bexleyheath, Kent, a cousin of the sculptor and printmaker, Eric Gill. Studied at the Slade School and, in 1913, won a scholarship to the British School at Rome. His scholarship was interrupted by the First World War during which he served in France from 1915 to 1918 and was appointed an Official War Artist. From 1922-25, he was a member of staff at the Royal College of Art. His work is held in the Tate Gallery and the Imperial War Museum.
