A moulded glass portrait bust of Sir Robert Peel, c.1845-51, by F & C Osler of Birmingham, modelled as a Roman emperor, raised on a square socle, moulded mark to the reverse, 17cm. The same bust on an octagonal plinth is in the Corning Museum of Glass. The V&A has the similar bust of Prince Albert that was made for the Great Exhibition of 1951.
Louay Kayyali (Syrian 1934-1978). Three quarter length seated portrait of Jacqueline van den Brandeler (nee. Merrier), oil on canvas, signed Kayali and dated 1962, 98cm x 72 Provenance: The portrait was commissioned at the time that her husband Jonkheer D. van den Brandeler was in Syria as Dutch Ambassador.
