Cologne G. von Kempen 1575.Vue à vol d'oiseau d'Istanbul-Constantinople en noir et blanc gravée sur cuivre du premier volume de la Civitas Orbis Terrarum de Braun & Hogenberg. Texte en allemand au verso. Deuxième état de la vue, avec la cocarde à droite incluant le portrait du sultan Murad III., L'une des vues les plus belles et les plus recherchées d'Istanbul. Vue du village de Scutari, la ville est représentée avec toutes ses fortifications, le quartier original de Genouse de Galata sur la rive opposée de la Corne d'Or à droite. Les galions européens et les galères turques remplissent les mers du Bosphore et de la Corne d'Or. Les grands bâtiments d'Istanbul du XVIe siècle sous le règne de Soliman le Magnifique peuvent être clairement vus, y compris la "Mosquée Süleymaniye" et le palais "Topkapi". Le centre inférieur est rempli d'un cavalier turc défilant et d'une troupe de janissaires., L'original de cette carte est souvent attribué à tort à Giovanni Andrea Vavassore, appelé Vadagnino, qui a créé une belle vue de Constantinople publiée à Venise en 1520. L'insertion d'images d'êtres humains. spécifiquement interdit par l'Islam, visait à empêcher cela.
