Douglas Hills A.R.C.A. (1924-1988), "Muscovy Ducks in Snow", signed, with artist's label inscribed on verso, oil on board, 59.5 x 40cm.; 23.5 x 15.75in. * After the war Douglas Hills attended Harrow Art College before winning a scholarship to the Royal College of Art. He then worked as an illustrator and portrait painter. In 1964 he moved with his family to North Wales. Here, living in the foothills of Snowdonia he continued painting portraits and held exhibitions in North Wales and London. In 1969 he was commissioned to paint a portrait of Prince Charles which still hangs in the Mayor's office in Caernarfon.
Hubert Andrew Freeth (1912-1986), "Beach Siesta", signed and dated 12/8/69, with gallery label inscribed on verso - 'Guildhall Art Gallery', gouache and ink, 27.5 x 42.5cm.; 11 x 16.75in. * Exhibited at the Royal Academy and was elected RA 1965, also showed at the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers; the Royal Watercolour Society; Royal Society of Portrait Painters and elsewhere.

An 18th century Jacobite interest enamel patch box of circular outline, of deep blue enamel ground with gilt brass mount and hinged cover, the base of the interior zinc lined, the lid of black ground with oval applied portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart within gold border 6.5cm diameter Provenance: sold with an accompanying note stating ''This box was presented by Prince Charles Edward to Captain John Burnett of the R H Arty' Bought as part of the collection Geogian and earlier snuff boxes from the Burnett of Leys Aberdeenshire.
