Kormis was well known for his portraits of famous people, including royalty - the National Portrait Gallery does not have this one, even though bronze portraits of Olivier are quite rare. He also produced some great war memorials. He was captured by the Russians in WW1 and thrown into a Siberian prison camp - he escaped in 1920 and moved to the UK a few years later.
