Fine Quality Ambrotype Photograph By Humphreys & Halliwell In Cheltenham. Circa late 1850s - Portrait of a seated Lady with some tinted colouring. It seems this lady was "Mary Hannah Norris wife of George James Corser" written on the case these words just readable Also with name of Humphreys & Halliwell in gold tooling, who had a Gallery in Royal Old Wells in Cheltenham. In brown leather covered case, size closed of 3½" × 4½".
India - Maharajah prints in folio - A ribbon-tied portfolio of portrait photographs reproduced from the work of Lala Deen Dayal (1844-1910). The folio contains 12 loosely inserted prints, include various Muslim, Hindu and Sikh princely rulers Maharajah of Rewah, Nawab of Rampur, Raja of Rampipla, Rana Sahib of Porbandar, Maharajah of Jodhpur, Nawab of Junagadh, Raja of Kapurthala, Maha Rao of Kutch, Maharajah of Mysore, Jam Sahib of Navanagar, Diwan of Palanpur, Maharajah of Patiala.

A pearlware commemorative jug c.1820, moulded to each side with the head and shoulders portrait of Caroline of Brunswick beneath elaborate hand-coloured floral garlands, inscribed 'Success to Queen Caroline', 14.5cm high. Jugs in support of Queen Caroline were produced around the time of George IV's succession to the throne when a Parliamentary Bill sought to dissolve their marriage of 25 years on the grounds of her adultery, as George did not want her as his Queen. She died the following year without being crowned.
A Michael Sutty Theatrical porcelain figure of Sir Donald Sinden c.1973, the actor modelled in his role as Sir Harcourt Courtly in London Assurance, after the Garrick Club's portrait of Sir Donald by Edward Seago, standing and holding a quizzing glass, wearing a snooty expression, printed marks, the quizzing glass partly lacking, 29.5cm. Provenance: from the collection of Rodney Bewes. This figure, believed to be one of only five made, was gifted to Rodney by Sir Donald, a long time friend and a fellow member of the Garrick Club since 1960.
Two Birmingham enamel snuff boxes c.1760, one printed with the Haymakers to the cover, the interior cover with the portrait of a lady, the sides with scenes of putti representing the Arts, the other printed with a lady on a horse beside a piper and a figure with a dog, the sides with flower sprays, some damages, 6.7cm. (2) Provenance: the Watney Collection.
A Copenhagen biscuit porcelain figure of a girl 19th century, holding the edges of her dress and dancing beside a covered basket, and three Continental biscuit porcelain portrait plaques of the Prussian General Gerhard Johann David von Scharnhorst, of Duchess Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the last a profile portrait of a young boy, 27.3cm max. A Meissen figure of the Map Seller mid 18th century, from the Cris de Paris series, modelled by J J Kändler, holding an unfurled map of Italy in his right hand, a further scrolled map in his left, a chest and other bundles strapped to his back, blue crossed swords mark, some good restoration, some decoration later, 16.7cm. Cf. Len and Yvonne Adams, Meissen Portrait Figures, p.108, pl.XXX, and p.93 for the original drawing by Edmé Bouchardon.
A collection of vintage tobacco jars to include a green and black jar with birds and florals to the sides, a tobacco jar with illustrations from Dickens to the sides, a hexagonal form paisley print jar, a cobalt jar with a portrait of a man smoking a pipe with decorative rims and florals to the lid, A Royal Winton blue glazed jar, a cobalt jar with a match striker to the base, a bulbous form Carlton Ware jar with an oxford crest to the side. Tallest measures 16cm-high 11cm-diameter.
A collection of 23 small turned wooden barrels made from the wood (mainly teak) of warships from WWI, WW2 and earlier, including 3 from the bowsprit of HMS Victory, one from HMS Ganges of 1821, the last sea going sailing flagship, also Iron Duke (5), Valiant (Jutland x 2), Warspite (2), Ajax (River Plate, 3) etc; 3 similar serviette rings of HMS Ajax and Northumberland (2); and a pair of desk top match holders and strikers from the teak of HMS Birmingham; also 2 presentation pewter tankards dated 1945 and 1953; a china tea pot stand with a portrait of Sir Redvers Buller, and a few other items.
