Late 18th/early 19th Century oval gilt metal Jewellery Box, the hinged lid inset miniature portrait of a couple, the lady wearing a white dress, the gentleman a brown coat, in a landscape within a beaded border, the base case with stiff leaves, 13cms, (5"). *The accompanying note suggests that the couple are Marie Francois Marquise de Roison and Nicolas Compt D'Esterhazy, who were married in 1799.

Vacher (Thomas Brittain & Sydney). Two albums containing 141 watercolour paintings by Thomas Brittain Vacher and Sydney Vacher, dated 1836-1904, first album contains forty-two watercolours by T.B. Vacher, including studies of Carisbrooke Castle, Arundel Church, Felpham Church in Sussex, Easbury House, Bramshill House in Hampshire, Stonehenge, Corfe Castle, Wayford Manor Farm, Pendennis Castle, Babbicombe, Lanyon Cromlech near St. Just, Tanby Castle, and St. Catherine's Island Tenby etc., second album contains ninety-nine watercolours by Sydney Vacher (inc. few drawings), including studies of Canons Asby, Eltham Palace, Whitby, Kenilworth Castle, Boulogne Old Town, Wimeteux, Montreuil Sur Mer, Athens, and Mount Vesuvius from Naples, together with portrait studies, and five etc., laid down on album pages (many loose), both contemp. half morocco, bindings worn and with adhesive tape to spines, folio Thomas Brittain Vacher (1805-1880) and Sydney Vacher (fl.1882-1893). Percy Thomas, a portrait and landscape genre and architectural painter and etcher, studied under Whistler, address in London, 1846-1922. A collection of six etchings; two of Chelsea Embankment, first state, 1884; third state, 1884; another, second state, 1871, on the lefthand side of etching "Briton Rivere 1871"; another "Trial Proof" depicting church and figures"; another of Winchester, 1896; and one of old London Housees, all signed in pencil "Percy Thomas", sizes 25cm x 19cm, 21.5cm x 16cm, 24cm x 17cm, 19cm x 22.5cm, 20cm x 13cm, 27cm x 19.5cm, (respectively).
