English School - early 19th century, Pencil and watercolour, Portrait of Robert George Johnson, born Chester, 5th April 1825, Indistinctly signed and dated 1827, 23cm x 19.5cm, Framed and glazed, With a 19th century pencil sketch portrait of Elizabeth Johnson, originally of Lymm Hall and a print of Madame Recamier, after R Cosway (3) CONDITION REPORT: Robert George - Grubby throughout with some dirt specks and small spots - some of this may be on the back of the glass. Frame grubby and with some losses to the gesso. Elizabeth Johnson - The image is loose from the frame and is lightly browned. The paper backing which has the provenance written on it is in poor condition. Some attention will be needed. Frame with general age wear. Print - browned throughout.

A garnet framed portrait miniature brooch, the oval portrait of a young girl in a white dress with a blue sash and holding a flower, painted on ivory, with flat faceted garnet surround, all in closed backs, in silver gilt, with pin and later safety chain, 43mm longScratches on glass and some light wear to garnets. Surface dirt under glass and between garnets.Wear and some discolouration to mount and backing. Pin appears to be a later addition. Small metal plaque / addition to top (possiby from where a hanging loop would be).

Richard Ferrier, son of Robert, was a freeman of Great Yarmouth in 1789 and colonel of Yarmouth Yeomanry.

A late 18th century yellow coloured metal and enamel scent bottle and stopper, each side decorated a portrait of a gentleman, 3 cm high, in a shagreen fitted case See illustrationReport by NGThe metal is unmarked and untested. Some minor surface scratches to enamel and metal. The figure with laurel crown is on a raised oval plaque.The portrait on the other side has some heavier scratches.The shagreen case has losses to exterior. The silk interior is worn away in one half and the other is also worn but mostly complete.The case is formed of layers and these are splitting apart.The scent bottle is approx. 7.4 g (all in)
