Philip Alexius de Laszlo de Lombos (1869-1937) Portrait of Marjorie Hodge, head and shoulders signed and inscribed 'to dear marjorie, Xmas, 1934' lower right chalk and pencil, 52 x 37cm Notes: The drawing was gifted to the present owner by her cousin. Her cousin was a friend of De Laszlo who stayed the christmas of 1934 and while there drew the sitter, her next door neighbour 'Marjorie'.
Attributed to Pieter Dubordieu (1607-1678), Portrait of a gentleman, half length wearing a white ruff and a black cape, Oil on canvas, 91 x 75cm Notes: Pieter Dubordieu was born in France but spent his working life as an artist in Leiden and Amsterdam where he specialised in portraits which combined realism with a courtly style.
English Provincial School, 19th Century, Portrait of Sophia Clulow Howard, three quarter length wearing a white dress holding a pink rose, inscribed 'Sophia Howard, aged 9 years and 2 months' in ink on the stretcher, Oil on canvas, 77 x 64cm Provenance: The Howard family, Brereton Hall, Cheshire. John Howard, a successful Manchester industrialist purchased Brereton Hall in 1817 and set about remodelling it in the Regency Gothic style. The house was originally built in 1586 by Sir William Brereton (1550-1631). John Howard's dynasty lasted until the early 20th century when the house became a girls boarding school.

Nicholas Robinson, Miniature portraits on ivory, Each with hand written label on Frankton Grange writing paper on the reverse 12 x 10cm and 9.5 x 8cm (2) Notes: Nicholas Robinson (1769-1854) was a Liverpool corn merchant who bought the Sudley estate and built the house in the early 19th century. He was mayor of Liverpool in 1823-9 and in later life acquired land at English Frankton, Shropshire. One of his sons, the Rev Nicholas Robinson, is depicted in the other portrait. A gold and carved coral cameo necklace, formed as a row of graduated oval coral cameos, each carved as a classical bust, connected by two row chains, on a snap clasp, circa 1820, length 41cms, gross weight of necklace 14.2 gms and a pair of gold mounted coral cameo earrings, each with an oval portrait bust to the top and with a tapering coral drop, the backs with screw fittings.
