Manner of Sir Peter Lely (1618-1660) - Oil painting - "Little Lady" - full-length portrait of a young girl with ringlets in her hair, wearing gold dress, pearl earrings and necklace in a landscape setting, relined canvas 50ins x 40ins, in gilt moulded frame Note: This portrait is thought to depict a member of the Lamport family, but the Lady's identity is not confirmed This has been catalogued as 'in the manner of Peter Lely' meaning in our opinion it is a work in the style of the artist and of a later date. To confirm we are not saying or guessing that it is by Peter Lely but it is painted in his style. This painting has come from a private source and has been passed down through family by repute, since it was painted. It was relined and restored in March 1927. On the back is a paper label for S.W Hoary "artistic frame marker print seller expert in gilding and picture restoration, 152 St Michaels Hill Bristol" and is dated March 1927. There is a bump to the canvas to the left of the figure close to her upper arm. With this there is some associated paint loss. There is some craquelure to the paint surface. Under UV light there are light scattered patches of overpainting including small areas at the top of her head, around the knuckles of the fingers of her right hand, some small scattered patches in the skirt of the dress and the folds in the bottom right corner. A few scattered patches in the background. It is contained in a gilt moulded frame which has been overpainted and has some minor chips and scuff marks. The painting comes with some handwritten notes by a family member dating to 1983, referring to the portrait as "An unsigned portrait "Aunt Lamport" presumed to be of Sir Peter Lely's school". The notes also refer to the portrait as "the little lady and states that it hung for many years at the Grange in Farnham in Surrey" and then describes the descent to the current owner.

But to ensure it was a success, they commissioned Drew Struzan to create the poster. This poster displays the "hanging" style artwork by Drew Struzan and is ideally suited to this portrait format. We are excited to offer this example autographed by ALL of the Goonies and the Fratelli Brothers. The cast members include Josh Brolin (Brand), Sean Astin (Mikey), Ke Huy Quan (Data), Jeff Cohen (Chunk), Corey Feldman (Mouth), Martha Plimpton (Stef), Kerri Green (Andy), Robert Davi (Jake), Joe Pantoliano (Francis), director Richard Donner and poster artist Drew Struzan. JAMES BOND: CASINO ROYALE (1967) - Carter-Jones Collection: Japanese Tatekan, 1967Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. A scarce Japanese Tatekan poster (STB) for the James Bond spy parody film Casino Royale (1967). This elongated portrait format features country-unique artwork with six colour photographic inserts running down the poster's length. Robert McGinnis' iconic psychedelic, colourful painted lady design used in most of the film's marketing is also incorporated. Although not official Bond canon, it is a title that attracts strong interest amongst collectors. Rarely seen offered in the market (this is the first time we have featured one), this unrestored example was printed in two sections (designed to overlap) and displays very well. Provenance: The Carter-Jones Collection represents one of the world's finest and most comprehensive James Bond poster collections acquired over a 50-year period by Adam Carter-Jones, who was inspired to start collecting by his father, Duncan. It includes material from across the globe, including some once-in-a-lifetime pieces, and spans the entire Bond canon.20" x 57" (51 x 145 cm)Additional Information: Two piece poster.Condition: Near Mint-Artist: Robert McGinnis£250 - 500VAT Status: MClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide
JAMES BOND: GOLDFINGER (1964) - Limited Edition Mondo Print by Todd Slater, 2007Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. On Friday, August 3rd, 2007, the Alamo Drafthouse cinema issued a very special limited-edition poster to celebrate their Rolling Roadshow screening of Goldfinger, held in Fort Knox Gold Depository, Kentucky, the setting for the film's finale. This hand-pulled three-colour lithograph features a portrait of Connery made from gold bars (in metallic gold inks), offset against a subtle, disguised backdrop of scenes and characters from the film. This design had a total print run of 300. 150 were signed and numbered and offered for sale through the Mondo website. The remaining 150 were unsigned and unnumbered (the example we have) and sold at the screening on the day. The unsold prints were offered as Artist Proofs by Todd Slater himself.18" x 34" (46 x 86 cm)Condition: Near MintArtist: Todd Slater£800 - 1600VAT Status: MClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984) - British Double Crown, 1984Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. British Double Crown poster for A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) displays artwork by British artist Graham Humphreys; this is probably the artist's most famous work. The creepy atmospheric illustration is a perfect foil for the glaring day-glo title, which hints at the violence inherent in the film. Humphrey's design famously features on the UK Quad but was cleverly adapted to fit a portrait format (as shown in this example). The artwork features slight differences in the design's positioning and features Freddy's other hand reaching down the right side. 20" x 28" (51 x 71 cm)Condition: Near MintArtist: Graham Humphreys£300 - 600VAT Status: MClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide
