A Victorian 19th century circa 1880s Persian porcelain plate to depict a Shah of Persia. The continental porcelain plate decorated with a foliate design in blue, red and gilt, the centre with colour printed portrait of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar within a gilt oval cartouche, circa 1880. Naser al-Din Shah was born in 1831 and reigned from 1848 until 1896 when he was assassinated. He was the first Persian Shah to visit Britain doing so in 1873 (when he was made a Companion of the Order of the Garter) and again in 1878 and 1889. Measures 20cm diameter. No marks to base.

AFTER MICHAEL RYSBRACK (1693-1770) A CARVED MARBLE BUST OF KING GEORGE II (1638-1760) ENGLISH MID 18TH CENTURY Wearing laurel wreath, classical armour with lions' heads on the pauldrons, the George medal, Garter Star and sash. The gorget cantered by a medusa head with oval medallion of St George and the dragon, on a swept marble base 54.5cm high overall, bust 43cm high, base 27cm wide The original first version of this is held in The Royal Collection (RCIN 31322). In the cataloguing notes for the bust it records that the original pair of portrait busts by Rysbrack were commissioned by Queen Caroline in 1738 as part of the decoration of William Kent's new library at St James's Palace.

The slides comprising a pair with gold thread initials ‘EJ’ and ‘MJ’ to woven hair grounds with split pearl border, mounted in silver with black and pink scroll enamel decoration to a white enamel ground verso, two with a gold thread monogram of initials beneath an enamel skull between putti, two with gold thread initials to a woven hair ground, one with gold thread initials beneath a recumbent skeleton, and one with a painted portrait miniature mounted in silver with blue enamel verso. All with faceted rock crystal covers, bar the miniature, with initials left to right, TB, portrait, WH, ET, MJ, AAB, WB, RW and TB verso, from Crowcombe Court, Somerset, 486mm long, 55.25gCondition ReportOne slide with later replacement fitting. Later mounting. Damage and previous repair visible to some.Later chain swags between all the slides, to create the necklace.Very slight clouding or dirt to underside of crystal to WH slide.Topmost TB slide shows small area of loss verso, with surface slightly dented. A few small chips to the three counter enamelled slides verso.Nacre to a few pearls worn, with some discolouration.Tarnish to later mount and pearl settings.Chain links a little worn. Textured links create occasional bunching to links when worn.Minor marks and scratches to mounts commensurate with age.

This does not appear to be active.The portrait does not appear to be showing any damage to the surface. With a few flecks of dirt or dust.Soft solder present to edges of portrait, joining the painting bezel to the pendant frame. Sections of soft solder are visible all along the join, and with some tarnish.Wear to the portrait bezel edge, with some small losses. Some areas of the bezel edge are slightly out of shape. A few sections have folded into gaps between the glass and the bezel, visible by 10x magnification. Seed pearl monogram to the reverse appears to be missing one small seed pearl to the top of the T. Underside of glass and surface of woven hair showing some flecks of dust and dirt, mostly under 10x magnification with some visible by eye.Solder join visible to one side of the frame.Spots of tarnish to metal surfaces.Minor dents, marks and scratches.Included papers read: 'Considered by Mr Lowe of the Victoria and Albert Museum to be an early work of Thomas Hazelhurst circa 1790'. The reverse of this paper (not shown in the photo) reads 'Portrait of William Bellew of Stockleigh Court'. The lower paper reads ' This portrait came to me from my Aunt Louisa Bellew. It was the portrait of her grand father. On the death of Reginald Crundall Punnett it is to go to Froude Trollope-Bellew'.

A rare George III double portrait ring with a double-sided revolving bezel containing two portrait miniatures on ivory depicting a lady and a gentleman, on a plain gold shank. APHA Ref: 29448945816Good condition commensurate with age. There is surface dirt on the miniatures and slight damage, possibly caused by water/moisture getting beneath the glass, mostly affecting the background rather than the faces. The glass appears to be original and in good condition, one side has a scratch in the corner and a slight blemish on the other corner. No obvious signs of any damage or repairs, the swivel mechanism works well. Not hallmarked or tested but probably 9ct or 15ct gold. Weighs approximately 4.9 grams.

Winterhalter. Mounted in a fine yellow metal, mother o pearl inlaid, horn and ebonised frame set with a crown probably for Royal presentation. The miniature 11.5 x 17.5cm, the frame 24.1 x 30.6cm. APHA Ref: FYWXP9JYFranze Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) was the Court painter to most of the crown heads of Europe and an international celebrity of his day. He came to England in 1842 and is believed to have painted 120 works for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert over his lifetime many of which would have been given as gifts.

Guy Blewitt D.S.O., M.C., (1884-1969) thence by family descentThe work is painted on an oak panel that appears to be the oringal size having not been cut down. The panel is basically good and flat with only a little movement when laid flat. Some old losses to the edges but nothing recent. As seen in the images that were taken whilst under a UV light there is evidence of historic overpainting to the figures face and also the rabbit. To the left of the nose is some paint loss and also beneath the right eye. Generally a good basically untouched early work.
