DOYLE ARTHUR CONAN: (1859-1930) Scottish Author, creator of Sherlock Holmes. A good vintage signed cabinet photograph, the image showing Doyle in a profile half length pose. Photograph by Elliott & Fry of Baker Street, London. Signed (`yours most truly, Arthur Conan Doyle`) in bold, dark fountain pen ink to the lower photographer`s mount. Very slightly neatly trimmed to the edges, not affecting the image or signature, G Elliott & Fry, the eminent Victorian photography studio, occupied 55 & 56 Baker Street in London before moving to other premises in 1919.
