Christmas Card [sent to Percy Benham], 1981 , signed by both under the printed message and dated, with two embossed Royal gilt crests on the left page facing, the four-page insert in folded ivory card with a full-page formal col. portrait picture on the front, showing the Royal couple standing either side of the newly wed Prince Charles and Princess Diana wearing her wedding dress, 21 x 15cm The col. photos from this date until 1995 appear as part of the printed card. *George V (King of Great Britain & his two sons Edward, Prince of Wales and Prince Albert, the Duke of York). A group portrait of the "Three Kings" in full Royal Air Force uniform, taken by Richard Williams of the R.A.F. (1934-48), all standing in a row outside, the Duke of York with hands clapsed in front, King George V with his left hand holding a walking stick, and the Prince of Wales with both arms by his side, approx. 24 x 19 cm, together with a modern reprint of similar size produced from the negative Believed to be only the second known photograph of all three Kings together and was clearly taken on the same occasion within a few moments of the other photograph and from a near identical view point and distance. The only notable differences are that the Prince of Wales hands are unclasped here and there is no visible sunlight or shadow. (2)

Important letters patent dated 15th March 1670 , granting to Sir Thomas Peniston from the King, rights to stop up roads in Cornwell in Oxfordshire, including Woodstock Way, The Fearne Way, etc., written in a most attractive bold hand and with large initial letters portrait of Charles II, top and side margins incorporating Royal Coat of Arms, mythical creatures and other engraved embellishments, retaining about half of a fragmented Great Seal of Charles II, accompanied with a translation, map of the land involved in Oxfordshire and extracts of the Peniston Baronets (1)

EARLY ENGRAVED PORTRAITS a collection of early portrait engravings, including thirty-eight 17th Century portraits of artists (the majority Flemish) from Bellar's 'Vire de Pittari' and C. de Bie's 'Her Giulden Cabinet; all unframed, varying sizes 12 1/2 x 8 1/2in (31.7 x 21.6cm) and smaller (approximately 220).
WILLIAM TATE (1748-1806) portrait of a Lady, seated half-length wearing a blue Dress, and lace wrap signed 'Tate' (lower left) oil on canvas 30 1/2 x 25in (77.5 x 63.6cm) tate was a friend and pupil of Joseph Wright of Derby, whose influence is evident in this work. A portrait by Tate of depicting Wright is in the collection of Viscount Scarsdale. Tate is known to have finished uncompleted portraits by Wright after his death in 1797. Tate practised mainly in Liverpool and Manchester until he moved to Bath in 1804. He exhibited works at the Society of Artists 1771-1775 and 1791, and at The Royal Academy 1776-1804.
