Anglo-Saxon: Offa, a large fragment of a portrait type silver penny of Canterbury, moneyer EOBA, which when assessed by Marion Archibald of the British Museum in 1993 was deemed to have an unrecorded obverse. General type S.905. 16mm, 0.82g. Details VF. About 70% of the coin is present. Comes with letter, photographs and provenance - found metal-detecting in Effingham near Guildford, Surrey.

Popish Plot conjoined heads medal d.35mm GF holed; a 19th or 20thC Irish aluminium medalet of Oliver Plunkitt a Catholic Martyr nVF missing suspension; a cast gilt white metal medallic thaler (or copy) for the Elector of Saxony being given the Order of the Garter by Charles II 1678, 45mm 21.78g, GF with suspension loop and ring; a Nuremberg jeton for the marriage of Charles II to Catherine of Braganza, Fine; and another of Charles II probably coronation, porous GF.
Pair of late 19th century Bohemian decanters and stoppers, in the Moser-style, one with etched crown shield mark, of small size and globe form, each gilt with trailing leafy tendrils and painted with an oval portrait of a child, within raised medallion, 19cm high approx. (damages) (2) Condition ReportLight surface marks/scratches, wear to gilt, both stoppers broken, general wear and tear.

Possible areas of overpainting under UV but could just be areas heightened with white and red. General wear and tear.

Henri Charles Jonas (1878-1944) Oil on panel Portrait of a haloed religious figure, signed and dated '34 lower left, 23cm x 20cm Jonas was a Dutch artist of the Limburg School, following travel throughout Europe and North Africa he took up a teaching position in 1922 at the Stadtekeninstituut, Maastricht. He spent time during the 1930s as a patient at the Valerius Clinic in Amsterdam and at the Saint Servatius Mental Instituion in Venray. Doctors urged him to continue to paint during his time at various institutions. The painting bears a label verso which makes reference to Dr F Havermans, who was Medical Director and Head Psychiatrist of Saint Servatius in Venray during Jonas's treatment. By family repute, this painting was gifted by Jonas to Dr. Havermans in thanks, and thence by descent to the present owner.

Provenance: by decent from a local private collection.Théodore Fantin-Latour (1805–1872/75) was a French portrait painter and drawing teacher known for his precise academic style. He was the father of renowned artist Henri Fantin-Latour, who's still lives and group portraits gained wide acclaim during the late 19th century.
