A GUILD OF HANDICRAFT A PLASTER FIGURE of a mother and child on a spherical and stepped base, signed A. Miller, 14" high x 7" wide (see illustration). Note: Alec Miller carver and sculptor (1879-1961) trained in Glasgow and joined the Guild of Handicraft in 1902 specialising in portrait sculpture. He emigrated to California in 1939.
AN OVAL 19TH CENTURY SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT of Sir Robert Vaughan, Bart and inscribed verso Nannau and Hengwrt, died about 1840, AD, `The Summits of Three Highest Mountains in Wales Belonged To Him` and another oval silhouette portrait inscribed verso probably Colonel Vaughan, Sir Robert Vaughans brother, each in ebonised frames with acorn and oak leaf hangers (2).
THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON PICTURE MEDAL, a collection of thirteen engraved circular cards depicting The Battles of the British Army and Portugal, Spain and France from the year 1808 to 1814, published by Edward Orme, Bond Street, London 1815 contained within a bronzed circular box with dexter silhouette portrait of The Duke of Wellington after Porter, the reverse decorated an angel, within the original red leather box inscribed Record of British Valour, 3 1/2" diameter overall (see illustration).
