Thomas Wilkinson Wallis (1822-1903): A Carved Limewood Still Life, dated 1866, carved as a Wagtail and a fly suspended on a fence backboard hung with ivy, signed T.W.WALLIS LOUTH 1866, 56cm by 33cm, in a glazed fruitwood display case, together with A Framed History of the Artist, containing reproductions of this frontispiece of Wallis`s autobiography, including an illustration of the present lot and also photocopies from a Country Life article, June 5th 1958 showing the self-portrait at the Wilberforce House, Hull where he also appears to be holding the present lot Thomas Wilkinson Wallis served his apprenticeship as a wood carver in Hull before establishing his own business in Louth in 1843 specialising in the carving of trophies of game and other birds in lime. His work can be found in Louth Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum Section of ivy to bottom right hand side with breaks. Case with some typical minor chips and splits. 281014

Henry Bone RA (1755-1834): After Sir William Beechey, Portrait Miniature of Samuel Whitbread the Elder, bust length, wearing a brown coat and frilled collar, oval, 9cm by 7.5cm, framed Samuel Whitbread (1720-1796) was the owner of London`s biggest producer of beer, producing 202,000 barrels in 1796. Whitbread was an MP from 1768 until his death in 1796. For a similar miniature see National Portrait Gallery, npg.6603 which is possibly also the example sold by Christie`s, King Street, 6.11.01, lot 280 Good condition. A Queen Anne Silver Royal Commemorative Box, circa 1710, oval, the lid inset with a double sided silver gilt medallion of King Charles I and Queen Henrietta Maria by Thomas Rawlins (circa 1620-1670), the underside engraved with a portrait of Queen Anne with angel supporters over St Paul`s Cathedral and the date 1709, 8.2cm wide In very good overall condition for a piece of this age. Some of the gilt on the medallion on the li (upper side) quite heavily devoid of gilt. The box has been later altered, a new hinge fully replacing the original and the sides of the box raised up. 290513

A seed pearl, diamond and red-gem double-sided pendant. Of circular outline, the hand painted panel, depicting the portrait of a lady, within a rose-cut diamond, circular-shape red gem and seed pearl accent surround, to the enamel floral reverse. French assay marks to surmount. Length 3.5cms. Total weight 11.2gms. Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with age/general wear. Composite piece, surmount dates from the late 19th century, with replacement gemstones and central panels. Significant repairs to the surmount, wear and scratches to the gilt surface. Glue to the seed pearls. Seed pearls untested for natural origin. Scratches to the enamel panel, possibly base metal. Some wear and scratches to the hand painted panel. Red gems too small to accurately identify, possibly rubies or garnets. Pinkish-red to purplish-red, dark colour saturation. Gemstones in fair condition with some abrasion. Estimated total diamond spread weight 0.07ct, which is no indication of the actual total diamond weight. Diamonds in fair to good condition with some abrasion and nibbles.
A Southern Football League medal 1901-1902, in 15 carat gold, and inscribed A. Lee, together with an England cap dated 1903-04, and a photographic portrait. Bert Lee played for Southampton F.C. 1900-1906, moving to Dundee 1906-1911 and back to Southampton 1911-1915. He won one England cap against Wales 29th February 1904.
