Auf der Plinthe bezeichnet: "GUSS G: HEINZE BERLIN". Lebhafte Darstellung Görings in Überlebensgröße in Luftwaffen Generalsuniform mit dem Orden Pour le Mérite. Unterhalb des Kinns Bajonetteinstich. Altersgemäße Beschädigungen und Gebrauchspuren. Höhe: 52 cm. Max Bezner (* 1872 in Stuttgart; ? 1939 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Bildhauer und Landschaftsmaler. Bezner, 1894 noch Zeichenlehrer in Stuttgart, studierte Bildhauerei bei Alfred Boucher in dessen Künstlerkolonie La Ruche in Paris. Er lebte danach in Berlin und war dort als Bildhauer tätig, nebenbei malte er auch Landschaften. Zu Ausführungen in Bronze, Stein, Terrakotta und Porzellan schuf er Statuen, Büsten, Statuetten, Porträtreliefs und Medaillen, insbesondere für den Berliner Hof und den deutschen Hochadel. Porträtiert wurden von ihm unter anderem Kaiser Wilhelm II., Otto von Bismarck, Paul von Hindenburg (aufgestellt unter anderem im Tannenberg-Denkmal), Erich Ludendorff, Karl Helfferich, Ulrich von Wilamowitz-Moellendorff und Gustav Roethe. Außerdem schuf er Entwürfe für die Majolika-Werkstatt in Cadinen. 1928 lieferte er auf Haus Doorn dem exilieriten Kaiser eine Marmorreplik seiner Porträtbüste ab.Im selben Jahr wurde er zum Ritter des Königlichen Hausordens von Hohenzollern ernannt. In der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus fertigte er Porträtköpfe von Adolf Hitler und Hermann Göring. Exemplare dieser Büste wurden unter anderem in der NeuenReichskanzlei Berlin sowie in München und dem Luftgau Kommando 4 in Dresden ausgestellt. Neben dieser Porträtbüste schuf Breker im Jahr 1939 auch ein Reliefbildnis Adolf Hitlers, das in unterschiedlichen Größen in Eisenguß ausgeformt wurde. Eines der wenigen Originalexemplare des wohl bedeutendsten Führerbildnisses aus der Zeit des 3. Reiches. Eindrucksvolle Skulptur dieses zusammen mit Thorak bedeutendsten Bildhauers des 3. Reiches. Manner of George Dawe (English, 1781-1829), c. 1815, Portrait of a Young Lady in a Lace Shawl, full-length, modelled standing and carrying a feather-trimmed bonnet, oil on canvas. 205cm by 114cm. Note: in correspondence with the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in February 1970, the then Assistant Keeper (Dr. Duncan Thompson) made a speculative attribution to George Dawe and also commented that "the sitter has a fair resemblance to George IV's daughter, Princess Charlotte-Augusta of Wales (1796-1817)". Looking at the stretchers and at the poor condition of the paint surface along the right hand side, it appears that the portrait has been cut down and may be a remaining single figure from a couple or group.

Leonardo Guzzardi (18th Century) - Oil painting - Shoulder length portrait of Admiral Lord Nelson, circa 1799, relined canvas 28.5ins x 24ins, in ornate gilt frame Note: The discovery of an almost identical portrait by Leonardo Guzzardi was reported in The Times for Monday November 13th 2017. That work was discovered by a well-known expert on British art in a private American collection. Arrestingly, that portrait and the example in this sale both show a welt over the sitter's right eye left after a fragment of shot had cut open the Admiral's forehead above that eye during the Battle of the Nile in 1798.
