Diploma issued by the Artesh Shahanshahi Iran (Imperial Army of Iran), printed on paper [Iran, n.d., probably c. 1955] printed on large sheet paper, six lines black nasta'liq, against a yellow background of crossing swords against a setting sun, document superseded by a photograph of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, images chipped at edges with some loss, creased and faded along old horizontal fold, 460 by 310 mm.; in modern wooden frame, under glass This document implies a nationalistic subtext with a distinct lack of Arabic language in the text, hearkening back to the Farsi used by Firdawsi. The text surrounding the Shah's portrait at the top reads khoda (god), shah (King) and mehan (homeland), signifying the connection between the three.
