A Georgian portrait miniature of a young lady as a pendant under glass, set with split pearls and seed pearls in yellow gold, upon a pinchbeck chain with turquoise set clasp, red leather satin and velvet lined box. Understood to depict Mrs Mary Turton 1754 - 1841 (née Mary "Molly" Meysey), married to John Turton of Sugnall Hall, Staffordshire. Accompanied by poem written about her in 1772 describing her beauty and together with further family details and provenance.

Includes George Formby, Marie Ambrose, Hetty King, Anna May Wong, Dainty Davis, George H. Elliot & others. The majority autographed, some dedicated & dated, circa 1917 to 1932. All fixed in album. This album was the property of Tommy Moffat who was a call boy at The Manchester Hippodrome. Photograph Album Showcasing The Work of Wartime Artist Elva Blacker, appearing to have been produced by Blacker’s father W H Blacker, who ran a photographic studio in Surrey. The album consists of mostly photographs of her portrait works including those of various Royal Air Force pilots and crew members etc. Some sketches on the album pages, these do not appear to be the work of Elva Blacker. Album is accompanied by a press photograph showing Elva Blacker and Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother) at the Forces Exhibition National Portrait Gallery. This album would appear to be a photographic catalogue of her work. Some album pages loose. An excellent photographic reference of this prolific and famous WW2 artists work. (163 images)
