Lambro Ahlas (California, New York, born 1928) Oil on canvas portrait of a woman gazing in the distance. With original gallery label verso. Size: 24 x 19 inches. In 1945 he attended California College of Arts and Crafts on a scholarship. He served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps and further studied at New York's American Art School. He traveled in Southern Europe for two years painting and drawing, mostly in Athens and Italy. Collections: Amon Carter Museum, Ft. Worth, TX
"Pattern of Trees" Luigi Lucioni (1900 - 1988). Signed original etching. Signed lower right. Sight Size: 7.5 x 12 in. Overall Size: in. Framed behind glass. Lucioni won many honors during his distinguished career. He took first prize in 1939 at the Carnegie International Exhibition for a portrait of Ethel Waters. His 1941 portrait of John La Farge was voted best painting by visitors to the Corcoran Biennial in Washington, D.C. Lucioni was a member of the Society of American Etchers (Brooklyn), and the Allied Art Association.
Lawrence Earle (Michigan, New York, New Jersey, 1845 - 1921) Portrait of an elderly gentleman. Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Sight size: 11.5 x 9 in. Overall size: 14.5 x 11.7 in. Earle exhibited with the National Academy of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago and, from 1887 to 1900, the Boston Art Club. He decorated the Chicago National Bank with murals and his work is represented in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; the National Academy of Design; Stanford University in Stanford, CA; the Dallas Museum of Art; the State Museum of Michigan in Lansing; the Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga, TN.
