Ruth HOLLINGSWORTH (1880-1945) Two Floral Arrangements In Glass Vases Oil on board, signed, 54cm x 44cm, 65cm x 56.5cm framed. Hollingsworth studied at the Slade School of Art and the London School of Art. She resided in London before moving to Dedham in Essex, where she painted landscapes in Breconshire and Italy. Her work was showcased at the Royal Academy in London, the New English Art Club, the Society of Women Artists, and other venues. In the 1930s, she frequently exhibited with the Ipswich Art Club. In 1917, she married artist Richard Sydney Hellaby and occasionally signed her works as Ruth Hellaby. Several British museums hold her pieces, and the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa has two of her paintings, including a portrait titled "Odette."

Irregular pagination but text and register continuous. Engraved frontis (dated 1614), five double-page maps (?of six) and two double-page battle plans. Colophon on final page dated 1621.Several pages of the introductory ‘Life’ printed close to fore-edge resulting in the partial cropping of a few page numbers. Closed tear to J6, 5mm hole in 3N4 and 5Q1, two 5mm holes in 3R6, minor annotation in pencil, age tanning, occasional minor staining but generally a very good copy. Modern quarter morocco binding with marbled paper boards.
