The panel has bowed over time and is extremely thick. The paint surface is very good with just some minor re-touching by the hand when examined under UV. Fine original gilt frame with minor loses.

There is a small area of bitumisation lower left where the darker paint has affected by heat. Under UV there is minor scattered re-touching to the surface of the painting. Contemporary gilt frame.

The paint and canvas are extremely stable and in very good condition. The areas of impasto have been maintained. Some areas of retouching to the background but the face appears untouched under UV examination. Black replacement frame with name plaque.
