UNATTRIBUTED; a mid 19th century oil on canvas, portrait of two young girls, unsigned, stamped verso 1831 and with bracken leaf, bearing old label verso "Sam Robbins Ltd, Repositories, Rugby", 75 x 62.5cm, in gilt decorative frame.With provenance letter explaining that the two girls are through to be Elizabeth Mousley Parsons and her younger sister Francis Hague Parsons who were daughters of William Parsons 1797-1852, who was mayor of Tamworth in 1838.

Scarlet coatee with Royal dark blue facings and sand to each shoulder gold bullion early style epaulettes. Mounted into a gold coloured oval frame, the reverse with plated hair and an enamel bow. The frame has been mounted with a stout pin fitting. The edge of the frame with floral engraved decoration and the name “William Godfrey Ma ?????”. The hook fitting has obscured the surname. Detail and colours good, colours bright Circa 1780. Height 4.5cm

A good interesting example Matrosengefreiten Walter Tauber’s service aboard Vorpostenboot 1312 who’s Captain received the Knight’s Cross 5th October 1944. Approx. 120 photographs, one a good portrait of him in uniform, another full length. There are picture of comrade, crippled ships, military funerals and life aboard ship. Also included in the album is his award certificate for the Iron Cross 2nd Class awarded at Wihelmshaven 8th October 1942 and his Minesweeper War Badge award on 18th April
