Falofsi (early 19th Century Continental school) - Miniature half-length portrait of a young gentleman wearing high collar and blue jacket with brass buttons, thought to be on ivory, 3ins diameter, signed "Falofsi", in gilt metal frame, late 18th Century (English school) - pencil and watercolour miniature portrait of a gentleman with wig and wearing wide-brimmed hat, oval 5.25ins x 3.75ins, indistinctly signed in pencil by the artist and dated 1781, framed and glazed, and early 19th Century (English school) - Half-length miniature portrait of a young woman with a red ribbon in her hair, on ivory, 4ins x 3ins, in ebonised frame and glazed Note: The Falofsi portrait is identified by a later hand as William Dennison. The oval portrait is identified to verso in ink as a Nathaniel Dennison (died age 64). The portrait of the lady has been later identified as Lady Pender when Miss Dennison.

18th/19th Century Irish School PORTRAIT OF JANET CATHERINE GROGAN, WIFE OF SIR JONAH BARRINGTON, MARRIED IN DUBLIN, 1789 oil on canvas inscribed on reverse 16 x 12¼in. (40.64 x 31.12cm) Sir Jonah Barrington (1756/7-1834), was an Irish lawyer, judge and politician. Jonah Barrington is most notable for his amusing and popular memoirs of life in late 18th-century Ireland; for his opposition to the Act of Union in 1800; and for his removal from the judiciary by both Houses of the Parliament in 1830, still a unique event.
Percy Wyndham Lewis (1882-1957) THE ENEMY. A REVIEW OF ART AND LITERATURE [VOL. I] JANUARY 1927 first edition in red leather boards signed by British artist Helen Kapp and dated [1927] in blue ink on first (advertisement )page 11¼ x 7½in. (28.58 x 19.05cm) Collection of George and Maura McClelland Wyndham Lewis founded, edited and published The Enemy. He was a contemporary of T.S. Eliot and Ezra Pund and author of novels such as The Revenge for Love, The Apes of God, and Tarr as well as a visual artist. His portrait of Eliot can be found in the Durban Art Gallery in South Africa. Helen Kapp (1901-1978) - whose signature appears on this copy - was a British painter, illustrator, wood engraver and curator. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, the Central School of Arts and Crafts and also in Paris and exhibited at the Royal Academy among other institutions.
