Early 19th Century Miniature Portrait of a Gentleman, possibly a Naval Officer. This fine quality portrait depicts the head and shoulders of a gentleman wearing dark blue jacket, with a white and blue striped shirt. The reverse with a lock of hair a seed pearl initials 'AA'. Contained in a gold coloured oval double sided frame. Height of frame 2 1/2 inches.
Georgian Miniature Portrait of a Military Officer. A fine quality head and shoulder portrait of an Officer of a Royal Regiment. He wears scarlet coatee with dark blue Royal facings with gilt buttons. To his right shoulder a single gold bullion epaulette. Mounted into a carved gilt and gesso frame. Circa 1810. Height of portrait 2 1/4 inches.

Individual signed postcard photographs of Margot Fonteyn (depicting her in a full length dance pose from Giselle, signed and inscribed in black ink and dated 1977 in her hand) and Rudolf Nureyev (depicting him in a close-up portrait pose, signed in bold turquoise ink with his name alone to the lower white border). Matted together in silver and grey beneath an unsigned printed image of the dancers standing together in full length poses on a beach and framed and glazed in a plain silver coloured frame to an overall size of 9.5 x 15.5. ASTOR NANCY: (1879-1964) Viscountess Astor. British Politician, the first woman to sit as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons. Wife of Waldorf Astor, 2nd Viscount Astor. Vintage signed postcard photograph, the image depicting a view across the river Thames to the House of Commons, and an oval portrait of Astor to the upper right corner. Signed by Astor in blue fountain pen ink to the upper left corner, adding 'M.P. 1919 - 1945 Plymouth' in her hand, and further adding, 'Christian Science healed me…' to the verso. Together with Barbara Castle (1910-2002) British Politician. Signed 8 x 10 photograph, the image depicting Castle in an informal head and shoulders pose. Signed by Castle in blue fountain pen ink with her name alone to a clear area at the base of the image. VG, 2
KENNEDY JOHN F.: (1917-1963) American President 1961-63. Assassinated. T.L.S., John Kennedy, one page, 4to, n.p., 27th January 1953, to Anthony Galluccio ('Dear Tony'), on the printed stationery of the United States Senate, Committee on Labor and Public Welfare. Kennedy acknowledges receipt of his correspondent's recent letter regarding a communication relating to a Mr. DeSimone and an attached affidavit of support from Stephen Ferrante, and continues to explain 'I have immediately contacted the American Consul General at Rome, Italy, asking that he look into this matter with a view to giving it his favorable consideration', concluding by stating that as soon as he receives a report he will get in touch with Mr. DeSimone. Some extremely minor creasing and one small, light stain close to, but not affecting, the signature. Together with Gerald R. Ford (1913-2006) American President 1974-77. Ford was a member of the Warren Commission that investigated the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It was Ford's responsibility to prepare a biography of Lee Harvey Oswald. T.L.S., Gerald R. Ford, one page, 4to, Washington D.C., 14th September 1973, to Iain Garry, on the printed stationery of the Congress of the United States, Office of Minority Leader, House of Representatives. Ford acknowledges receipt of his correspondent's letter requesting a copy of Portrait of an Assassin, and continues to explain 'I am sorry I do not have any extra copies. In fact, the only copy I have is my own personal copy. Just recently I wrote to the publisher, Simon and Shuster, for additional copies and was told that copies are no longer available'. VG, 2
VICTORIA CROSS: A good First Day Cover issued by the Royal Air Force museum to commemorate Marshal of the RAF Viscount Trenchard, the First Chief of the Air Staff, featuring a colour illustration of a Bristol aircraft flying over the RAF Staff College at Bracknell and with an inset artist's portrait of Trenchard, individually signed by seven pilots, each of them Victoria Cross winners, most awarded for various actions during World War II, comprising Leonard Trent VC, Norman Jackson VC, Leonard Cheshire VC, Freddie West VC, Roderick Learoyd VC, John Cruickshank VC and William Reid VC. Also signed by Marshal of the Royal Air Force Michael Beetham (1923-2015) British Bomber Pilot of World War II and later Chief of the Air Staff during the Falklands War. All have signed in bold blue or black inks to clear areas of the cover. Post marked 1st April 1978. VG
HARRY POTTER: Signed colour 8 x 10 photograph by both Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) individually, the image depicting the two actors standing in full length poses either side of actress Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) at a promotional event relating to one of the Harry Potter film series. Signed by Radcliffe in bold blue ink and by Grint in bold red ink, largely to clear areas of the image. Together with a small selection of signed 10 x 8 photographs by various other actors who have starred in Harry Potter films comprising Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid; the image depicting Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and two others, but not Hagrid himself), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). The latter two both show the actors in costume poses and all are boldly signed to clear areas of the images (two are inscribed). Also including a signed colour 10 x 8 photograph of Elijah Wood in a close-up portrait pose in costume as Frodo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings and a signed colour 10 x 8 photograph by Richard Taylor, the creative director of the New Zealand film prop and special effects company responsible for the costumes, props etc. for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, the composite image depicting various actors in character costume poses from the films. Large selection of vintage unsigned postcard portraits featuring Price in various portrait poses, largely duplicated, including a head and shoulders study wearing a cravat (142), a half-length study holding a packet of cigarettes (84; each featuring facsimile signatures) and a head and shoulders study in costume (81; each featuring facsimile signatures) and also including a few other images of Price, some published in Germany, Picturegoers (2) etc. (20 in total; a little duplication). Together with a good selection of vintage unsigned 8 x 10 (and a few slightly smaller) publicity portraits and film stills relating to Dennis Price, showing him in costume from various films including The Bad Lord Byron (as Lord Byron, 1949), Oh - Rosalinda!! (as Major Frank, 1955), The Magic Bow (as Paul de la Rochelle, 1946) Kind Hearts and Coronets (as Louis Mazzini, 1949), Jassy (as Christopher Hatton, 1947), Caravan (as Sir Francis Castleton, 1946), Holiday Camp (as Hardwicke, 1947), Hungry Hill (as Greyhound John, 1947), The Intruder (as Leonard Pirry, 1953), Snowbound (as Neil Blair, 1948), Cockpit (as Ridley; released as The Lost People, 1949), The Tall Headlines (as Maurice Fletcher, 1952)etc., some showing him with co-stars including Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Mel Ferrer, Robert Helpmann, Stewart Granger, Jean Simmons, William Hartnell, Margaret Lockwood etc., a few on film sets, attending various social events etc. A little duplication. Many with original credit stamps to the versos and some with printed descriptions attached. Also including a selection of vintage unsigned 7½ x 9½ film stills issued for the British drama movie The Lost People (1949), the images depicting various scenes from the film and featuring cast members including Mai Zetterling (Lily), Richard Attenborough (Jan), William Hartnell (Barnes), Maxwell Reed (Peter), Dennis Price (Ridley), Herbert Lom (Bauer) etc., a couple also showing studio scenes featuring director Bernard Knowles and producer J. Arthur Rank etc. Each of the stills have the credit stamp of the Rank Organisation to the verso and also have attached printed descriptions.
