There appears to be some dirt/foxing to the picture especially to the top half. There is a hole in the peacock's tail. The picture is slightly askew in the mount. Theodore Géricault's 1812 "Charging Chasseur" is a portrait featuring an officer in the French Imperial Guard charging away from the viewer.
