A roman lock pistol dating: 18th Centuryprovenance: Central ItalySmooth, two-stage, octagonal and round, 14 mm cal. barrel; flintlock with outlined elements; long, briarwood stock (parts missing and restorations) chiselled with foliage; brass mounts, the trigger guard with a female face and front edge chiselled with foliage, en suite with the rear edge of the mouthpiece, at the back a small, crowned shield depicting a female portrait, the butt-plate engraved with trophies, counter-plate en suite.dimensions: length 39 cm.

KNIGHT, DAME LAURA, DBE RA RWS (BRITISH) (1877 - 1970), portrait of HRH Queen Elizabeth II as a Princess, pastel on paper, signed and dated 1950, 38cm by 28cm, framed Provenance: purchased 1969, Grosvenor Gallery, London, for 300gns. Signed correspondence between Laura Knight and the purchaser, including the original cheque dated 13th August 1969. A letter from Buckingham Palace dated 2011 is also included, stating that the Queen remembers sitting for the artist in 1950, but cannot recall the particular details of the sitting Artists Resale Rights may apply

An 18th century portrait scroll, of a dignitary wearing a blue robe lined in material with white cherry blossoms on a brown ground, he sits on a tixi lacquer throne draped in red ground cloth with turquoise and blue dragon roundels, 151 x 92cm (59.5 x 36.25 in) This bears a loan exhibition label from the Metropolitan Museum of art S.L. No. 3698.10 and a Christies label. The baton at the top of the scroll is a replacement and the one at the base is lacking. There is a tear from the base running up to the sitter's shins and another central tear running up to the bease of the thone. There are some stains and filled areas of paint loss. The condition deserves only 4-5 out of 10.
