GRETA SEQUEIRA VALENTINE A portrait of Lamorna Birch Oil on canvas 61 x 51cm. Signed Provenance, the estate of Lamorna Birch. Note Greta Valentine was the wife of Birch's last patron, the Scottish fine art publisher Ranald Valentine. This portrait was painted at Valentine's home in Coupar Angus in 1940 when Birch was aged 71. Greta was then an art student and later became Birch's muse and constant companion at society functions and private view days at the Royal Academy and a guest at his home in Lamorna.
