Gilt and holed at 12 o’clock for suspension, the host fine with small edge bruise at 3 o’clock, the engraving better and of particularly fine workmanship £60-£80 --- Provenance: H. Brown Collection. Georges Ernest Boulanger (1837-91), aggressive nationalist French general and politician, champion of the monarchist cause in France, fled the country under penalty of death, moving to England and then Brussels, where he committed suicide on the grave of his mistress, with whom he is buried

Original vintage travel advertising poster for the Western Highlands, Scotland, and issued by the British Railways. The artwork is painted by Edward Halliday (1902-1984), a British artist best known for his portraits and murals in the 1920s. Halliday's work is in many public museum collections including National Portrait Gallery, London, National Maritime Museum, Bank of England Museum, and the Parliamentary Art Collection. The painting features a beautiful landscape scene of a loch, with a mirror like surface reflecting the sky, with a tree and rocks in the foreground, mountains and hills in the background. The poster is titled "The Western Highlands - See Scotland by Rail". Published by the Railway Executive (Scottish Region) and printed in the Great Britain by Waterlow and Sons, London and Dunstable.
