A 1920’s William Moorcroft footed pedestal bowl of circular section with a Walker & Hall silver plated swept foot, the whole decorated in the Eventide pattern with a tubelined stylised landscape in tonal reds and green, bears blue flash monogram to the base and impressed marks, measures 7” across.

*Aeronautique-Club de France. Printed menu for 5th October 1906, printed in black and silver, some surface marks, signed on verso by twenty-six participants including Sauniere (co-founder of the Club and its first President) and [Ferdinand] Ferber, all but three signatures in pencil, 22.5 x 14 cm Ferber had built a biplane gilder with a fixed tail in 1904 and was thus responsible for solving most of the problems associated with glider flight. He was killed when he crashed his plane at Boulogne on 19th September 1909. Less than one month after this dinner, Alberto Santos-Dumont was to win 1500 francs from the Club for the first 100-metre flight. (1)

A large mahogany propeller blade with oil painted decoration, depicting a BE2C 'Pusher' Biplane in the act of shooting down a German aircraft, and having applied silver plaque commemorating the war service of Pilot Hugh Joseph Coogan ACI No. 42668, engraved and inscribed "Entry RFC 7th August 1916 - entry RAF 1st April 1918", the painting depicts his fighting action and thus the memento of his victory, inset oval glazed frame with photograph of the Pilot in his new RAF uniform. 35x11ins (90x30cm) (1)
