An Omega gold plated wristwatch, model BK14714 from the 1960 International Collection, having calibre 285 manual movement with radially-brushed circular silver face with baton markers and conforming hands, 32.5 mm (excluding crown), with 1963 dated Omega international guarantee, [Recently serviced and running, fitted with new leather strap and having a new spare strap]
An early signed portrait of Adolph Hitler, being a period monochrome offset lithographic print of a three-quarter length photographic portrait of the subject, stood arms crossed in a civilian suit, a signature in negative reproduced within the print, lower left an autograph signature and date, Landsberg, 9th November 1925, verso a pencil inscription and ink stamp ***** Klotz, 38 cm x 29 cm, in later silver frame engraved Landsberg 1925. [The picture was inscribed on the second anniversary of the Munich Putsch, at the town in which Hitler was imprisoned for his role in the attempted coup. This date was something of a "holy day" for the Nazis, and it is likely Hitler visited the town to celebrate the anniversary. 1925 was also the year in which his work Mein Kampf, written whilst imprisoned, was published. The picture was formerly the property of War correspondent William Forrest, reporter for the News Chronicle, his articles of the time currently archived at the British Museum's Newspaper Library. Forrest witnessed the Normandy landings and the crossing of the Rhine, subsequently being amongst the first British troops to enter Berlin, discovering the photograph there in the debris of the Führerbunker. The lot is accompanied by a signed typewritten testimonial to this effect bearing a 1990 dated ink stamp of Wallis & Wallis]
