Lot 1

A pair of George IV silver candlesticks, John & Thomas Settle, Sheffield 1823, baluster stems on weighted circular bases, detachable sconces, decorated in relief with floral and foliate detail, each 18.5cm high (2) (at fault) CR; Several dents, knocks and splitting to the highpoints of the decoration on the knop of the stem and the sconces (see pictures for illustration). The decoration has lost definition in some areas. Many small dents throughout, mostly concentrated on the base. Both sconces show some denting and misshaping. The silver mounts are coming away from the weighted bases in places. Both sets of hallmarks on the bases are worn, but are still legible, and correspond with with marks on the sconces. No signs of repair.

Lot 18A

A cut glass silver plated decanter in the manner of Christopher Dresser, of baluster form with cut base, plain polished mount with angled handle and hinged cover, 25.5cm high (at fault) CR; No cracks or fractures to the glass body. Some chips and nibbles are visible to the glass beneath the collar. There is scratching and wear to the body, concentrated round the base, commensurate with age and use. There are several splits to the silver coloured mount and around the spout (see pictures). There is some lifting between the mount and glass around the handle. Mount, handle and cover show general scratching and wear, and some loss to plate. Cover is slightly wobbly at the hinge, but opens smoothly and closes flush.

A large selection of silver coloured and silver plated wares, to include; a silver plated three bottle decanter stand, a pair of oval serving dishes and covers, a 19th century desk stand, a selection of mother of pearl handled cutlery by Walker & Hall, comprising six forks and five knives, and a further assortment of tableware (Qty) (at fault) 

Lot 2

A George III silver teapot, Henry Chawner, London 1792, of oval form with hinged cover, wooden knop and c-scroll handle, bright cut decoration and engraved cartouches to each side, one depicting a hare in a natural landscape, the other engraved 'To William Leggatt from Thomas Rogers Esq', 26.5cm long, weight 12.98ozt (at fault) CR; Small to medium sized dents throughout the body, concentrated on the side with the hare cartouche. Some splitting around the tip of the spout. Cover opens smoothly, but does not close flush. Several splits to the ebonised knop. Some separation between the handle and the body of the teapot. Some wear to the decoration, but all largely clear and legible. No signs of splitting to body, or repair.

An early 20th century silver coloured novelty pepperette in the form of a chick, 6cm high, a Victorian silver plated novelty vesta case in the form of a medieval knight, 6cm high, and a silver coloured model of a shell, 4.9cm diameter (at fault) (3)

A late 18th/early 19th century ivory silk satin waistcoat, decorated in silver coloured and gilt brocade with trefoil embroidery, pink sequins and purple paste highlights, the breast decorated in silver purl fringe, cotton back and lining, length approximately 45cm, framed and glazed (at fault)

Lot 3

A silver coloured swing-handled sugar basket, the oval body upon spreading base, with beaded borders and foliate swag decoration, engraved cartouche to each side, marks to base for Samuel Wood, London 1784, (bowl possibly later), 16cm high, 5.67ozt (at fault)CR; Solder repair where the base meets the bowl. Base is hallmarked, bowl and handle show no marks. Denting around the base of the bowl, with possible later solder repair. Some piercing around the rim. Possible repair around the hinges of the handle. Light denting, general scratching and wear to the piece overall. Please see additional pictures for illustration. 

Lot 30

A pair of silver coloured William & Mary commemorative plaques,18th Century,Depicting repoussé profile busts of each monarch, with Latin inscription surround,Each approximately 9cm x 7.5cm,in ebonised wooden frames (at fault) (2)CR; Both plaques show heavy wear and tarnish. Both examples show denting, thinning and splitting, concentrated to the highpoints and around the edges of the plaques, the William example showing more splitting then the Mary. There is moderate to heavy loss of definition to the lettering and profile of the William example, with some of the letters on the border no longer legible. The Mary example shows some loss of definition, but is largely still clear and legible. The Mary example is taped into it's frame, and is removable - there appears to be a possible patch of repair behind the face (pictured). The William example is secured into the frame by nails, and cannot be removed. Both frames show heavy scratching and wear, but no splits or signs of repair. Please refer to the additional images for further illustration. 

Lot 356

A Sevres porcelain cup and saucer, 18th century, the straight sided cup with bleu lapis ground, finely enamelled with a reserve of a silver haired bespectacled lady seated reading, within a gilt scroll and floral border, entwined 'L's enclosing letter 'L' in blue to base indicating date code for 1764, 7cm high (at fault)

Lot 373

A tondeau stained and painted glass panel, possibly 16th century and later, the central panel depicting a lord dining below a coat of arms, surrounded by oak leaf and scroll panels, the glass with silver stain yellow highlights, 34cm diameter (at fault)CR; There has been several areas which have been broken and later repaired or re-enforced with later joints, as pictured. Other then these areas, there are no cracks, chips or losses to the glass visible with the naked eye. The lead on the joints does appear to be a slightly different colour and brightness to the frame, possibly indicating later repair. There are some gaps between the frame and the glass. There is scratching and wear to the glass, and denting to the frame, commensurate with age and use.

A tondeau stained and painted glass portrait panel, 19th century, possibly depicting William Shakespeare, in a silver stain yellow type border with yellow highlights to the hair, set within a red glass panelled border, 23.5cm diameter, with an oval stained glass portrait panel depicting a gentleman in 17th century dress within a yellow glass panelled border, 26.5cm high (at fault) (2)

A Victorian silver sugar basket, Thomas Bradbury & Sons, London 1863, the circular pierced bowl with scalloped border and cast vine decoration, raised on circular foot and twist handle, associated blue glass liner, 13cm high, weight (excluding liner) 5.89ozt (at fault) 

Lot 41

A selection of tortoiseshell and tortoiseshell coloured boxes, 19th century and later, comprising a portrait print mounted example depicting two ladies, 11.5cm diameter, an etui with hinged cover and vacant shield shaped cartouche (lacking contents), 8.2cm high, a spectacle case with marcasite monogrammed 'M', an oval trinket dish inset with silver coloured classical urn, 10.5cm wide, an octagonal pill box, 7cm wide, and a tortoiseshell mounted snuff box, 8cm wide, (all at fault) (6)CR; Circular box: crazing throughout. Possible signs of of over-painting. Scratching and some loss to the portrait. Portrait does not sit secure in the frame and moves around. Some denting and bending to the metal frame. Cracks to the cover, possible signs of repair. Crack to the inside rim of the base. General scratching, wear and tear to inside and outside.Etui: Heavy scratching and wear to the exterior. Several cracks and areas of loss to the exterior. Tearing to the fabric lining in the cover, and extensive glue repair. Moderate scratching and wear to the case interior, but no splitting.Spectacle case: Heavy scratching and wear to interior and exterior. Many stones from monogram are missing. One of the hinges is broken, showing loss to the case surround and signs of attempted repair. The catch is not in working order. The cover does not sit flush with the case and is slightly lopsided.All other pieces show moderate to heavy scratching and wear. The octagonal case has heavy losses to the cover, as well as chips and nibbles to the edges, and shows signs of glue repair in several places. The oval dish has a chip missing to the rim, and a large crack in the rim. There are some areas of loss on the inlaid border and central motif, as well as denting, scratching and wear. There is a later added mount to the reverse. The snuff box is in relatively good order, no signs of obvious damage or repair, however the cover does not sit flush to the box.

A hunting short sword, 19th century, probably German, the 23.5cm double edged blade with triple fullers, the hilt with cast brass guard with relief moulded boar to one side and stag to the other, the quillons modelled as hound's masks, with associated horn grip joined at the guard by a silver coloured collar, 39cm long overall, lacking scabbard (at fault)

A sword hilt with horn grip, 19th century, the silver coloured guard cast with a standing lion to one side and a sleeping lion to the other, the quillons modelled as lion paws, the silver coloured lion's mask pommel with raised capstan rivet, set to an associated 65cm single edged curved fullered steel blade with bayonet tip, 82.5cm long overall, lacking scabbard, with a 1796 pattern infantry sword, the gilt brass hilt with folding guard, knuckle bow (lacking finial), fluted ivory grip and urn pommel, set to an associated 83cm single edged double fullered straight steel blade, indistinctly stamped, possibly for Andrew [Andrea] Ferrara, 99.5cm long overall, lacking scabbard, with a 1796 pattern infantry sword (lacking folding guard), and two further swords, all lacking scabbards (5) (at fault)
