"Period Third Reich / Battle of Britain. Staffelkapitan Horst Tietzen`s mess schappesbeaker, posthumously engraved and presented to his family after K.I.A over the Thames Estuary 18-8-1940. Silver, with contemporaneous engraving (trans) "H ptm. Tietzen, our congratulations for your 10th aerial victory" and "Molders 5 / JG51 25-7-1940" O / A, height 4.3, age toned, Provenance: Obtained direct from the family in the 1970`s, sold through a provincial auction, (Note to lot) Horst Tietzen`s wing of ME 109 fighters were in almost continuous action during the famous battle. With a total of 20 kills Tietzen was posthumously awarded the knights cross on 20-8-1940, some basic post-war research accompanies this lot "
"Period Third Reich on post war garment. A stylish and very rare ladies black velvet evening jacket for Allgemeine S.S. with 1940`s rayon lining and rayon S.S. / R.Z.M. stitched in label. Complete with period Third Reich stitched on multi-piece S.S. armband: Austrian Nazi Party membership badge (correct type, plated on tombac): exceptionally rare S.S. formal / evening wear badge (correct type, silver plate on tombac): and very fine S.S. enamelled buttons, small size, overall age toning, its conceivable that this entire garment could be period. Provenance: purchased from a dry cleaners in Vienna in the 1950 / 60`s as "uncollected goods" "
