JOHN SCOFIELD; a pair of George III hallmarked silver oval salts with beaded rims and raised on four scrolling shell capped legs to stepped hoof feet, London 1776, length 8cm, approx 5.97ozt/185.7g.Additional InformationNo traces of gilding remaining to the interior. The feet have slightly compressed in some areas and are showing from the inside and therefore they are not standing true in the outside - they are in curved, particularly on one. Hallmarks are clear on both, both are of good gauge with just minor pinhead sized dents. Both have a faint engraved crest of a figure holding a scythe over his shoulder. Sold with a Mappin & Webb box and with copy of valuation from Lowe & Sons of Chester.

The hallmarks are very badly rubbed and just about distinguishable. The spring actions are both functioning, but a little loose on the inner sovereigns. Dents to the reverse inscribed side, small pinhead sized dents throughout. Very heavily tarnished and toned with surface scratches.

Heavily tarnished and toned throughout. It has an inscription 'Buxton Union Club the West Cup 1947'. It does not quite stand correctly on the base, so the base is certainly associated to the cup.

The date letter is slightly obscured but still very readable. The Barker Ellis bowl is of very good gauge, light surface scratches and tarnishing.

ASPREY; a George VI hallmarked silver trinket box of rounded rectangular form with engine turned decoration and floral detailed rim, Birmingham 1937, width 17cm, depth 9cm, height 4.5cm, approx 14.45ozt/449.4g.Additional InformationAction works well to the lid, it is only very slightly sprung, good gauge throughout, vacant cartouche which has some wear around this, a couple of pinhead sized dents, hallmarks are clear. Makers mark AW with Asprey of London retail stamp to the side of the hallmark, interior retains some traces of the gilding.

An Edward VII hallmarked silver five sectioned tulip vase decorated with a stag in landscape, Birmingham 1907, width 8.5cm, a simple hallmarked silver four section toast rack, a pair of silver salts, a pair of Danish base metal apple shaped pin dishes, a silver candle snuffer with turned rosewood handle, and a small knife with silver sheath handle, weighable silver approx 3.78ozt/117.7g.Additional InformationThe tulip vase has several dents some of which are very noticeable to the foot rim and the side, also misshapen rim. The toast rack is slightly compressed, the pair of salts have pitting and surface scratches, no liners present. The knife is very heavily worn, the candle snuffer is ok.

There are two splits to the rim, there is a compression causing a split around the base. The foot rim is heavily misshapen where the hallmark is. The hallmark is still just about legible, heavy tarnishing and toning throughout.
