Boss 12 bore side by side rotary underlever hammergun, serial number 1979, the 28 3/4 Damascus black powder proof barrels engraved Boss & Co. 73 St James's Street London, figured chequered stock with silver escutcheon engraved with a lion, scroll engraved actions and steel butt plate. (end of one barrel dented/ deformed)UK SHOTGUN LICENCE OR RFD REQUIRED TO BID ON THIS LOT.28 3/4 inch barrels.Condition report: The bores are generally bright and shiny with only very minor surface marks that will possibly clean out. They gauge at .729 on both barrels. The barrels show little wear and are in good order except for the dent at the end of the muzzle. The barrels ring nicely with good resonance when tapped. The barrels line up tightly against the action and no light can be seen between the join. There is no wobble between stock and barrels. Length of pull is 13.75 inches from the rear trigger and 14.5 from the front trigger. The stock is generally good with a dark patina and good figure, there are light scratches, the forend has a section of wear in which the chequering has been worn through. There is a minor chip to the edge of the forend on the side where wood meets barrel.The locks function correctly. There is no half cock.
Fine cased Parker Field percussion 80 bore transitional revolver, with 5 inch barrel retaining most of the rich original blue, engraved Parker Field and Sons 233 High Holborn London, fitted with dovetailed front and rear sights, as well as spring-loaded ramrod, numbered 2602, fitted onto case hardened frame decorated with scrollwork, finely chequered grip with a vacant silver escutcheon. The case with maker's label to lid (possibly replaced) contains a bullet mould, nipple key, jag, James Dixon and Sons powder flask, cap tin, oil bottle, cleaning rod and bullets.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.5 inch barrel.

George and John Deane percussion double 8 bore shotgun, 32 inch Damascus barrels, fitted with platinum breach plugs, the top flat engraved with a gun dog's head, the named side locks engraved with gun dogs chasing game birds within scrollwork borders, chequered stock stamped with 1792 serial number, with vacant silver escutcheon, steel cap to pistol grip and pineapple finial trigger guard.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a license.32 inch barrels.Condition report: The gun has a pleasing patina and the action works correctly. There are a few condition issues the main being the rib between the two barrels which is lifting slightly in two areas. The barrels have been cleaned up as the maker's address is faint. There is fine surface pitting to the metalwork generally. One bore has a patch of pitting (which I doubt will clean out) around midway through the tube, the other bore has no major pits but there is light surface pitting. The wood is generally good but there are some chips to the forend where the edges meet the metal of the barrels.
Cased John Wiggan double 12 bore percussion shotgun, the 30 inch Damascus barrels engraved John Wiggan Maker to the Royal Family and Pacha of Egypt, numbered 2265, the side locks engraved with gun dogs and fitted into chequered stock with removable pistol grip and vacant silver escutcheon, the canvas and leather slide in case containing cap tin, powder and shot flask, and oil bottle.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a license.30 inch barrels.
Cased Westley Richards 16 bore double percussion shotgun, 30 inch boldly patterned Damascus barrels engraved Westley Richards 170 New Bond Street London, numbered 791 to undersides, fitted with platinum breach plugs, finely scroll engraved sidelock actions mounted in chequered stock with vacant silver escutcheon and long tang butt plate. The oak case with brass corners bears maker's label to inside.Section 58(2) Antique /obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence.Condition report: The bores have patches of pitting which are too deep to clean out. The stock has several scratches, dents and marks. There are small stains to the wood around the butt plate join.The forend has a thin piece of wood missing above the barrel key where the thinnest part of the wood meets the barrel. The actions work correctly but have some pitting especially to the hammers.
Williams and Powell Liverpool double 12 bore pinfire rotary underlever shotgun, the 30 inch Damascus barrels numbered 5069, engraved Williams and Powell 25 South Castle St. Liverpool, profusely engraved receiver and back actions mounted into a dark figured chequered stock with vacant silver escutcheon, the trigger guard tang also engraved with the gun's serial number. The gun is fitted into a period case (possibly not original to the gun) containing fourteen reloading and cleaning tools mounted in the French style, some stamped James Dixon and Sons as well as others by G. & J.W.
