A Persian (Iranian) 840 silver jug with wide spout lip, the entire main body finely chased and engraved with exotic birds, fine borders and scenes of large birds and buildings, four fine decorative cartouches, cast scrolled handle with birds head leading towards the jug, four cast feet of leaf form with three toed feet, marked underneath in English and Farsi, Height to highest point 14 cms, circumference at widest point 29.5 cms, Weight 322 grams (10.352 oz) Provenance: From the son of Mr Eyers; the banker to the last Shah of Persia. Condition: 8mm split to silver present to rear top rim, visible from inside jug, split at creation rather than later damage.

Royal Flying Corps Identity Disc, fine quality silver (not hallmarked) identity disc with fine relief of a pair of Royal Flying Corps pilots wings, biplanes in flight and lower wreath. Engraved to the centre “C . W. DE. MAINE USA 1291597”. Complete with linked wrist chain and housed in a fitted leatherette jewellers box.
Pair of Early Aviation / Motoring Goggles “Halford Deluxe”, leather early style goggles with metal frames and clear lenses. Thin elasticated strap. Housed in the original card box of issue with “HALFORD DELUXE GOGGLES No M.5626 The Largest Retailers Of Cycle And Motor Cars ACCESSORIES IN THE EMPIRE”. Also marked Made in France to the lid. Some wear to the silver leaf on the box lid, goggles remain in good condition.

Hallmarked Silver Royal Air Force Four Piece Dressing Table / Vanity Case Set, hallmarks for Aidie Brothers Ltd, Birmingham 1939, the comb is hallmark date for 1941. Consists of brush, mirror, small brush and comb. Three of the pieces with fine quality silver and enamel RAF pilots wings and regimental colour ribbon. Housed in its fitted case. Fine quality items probably purchased by a RAF pilot for his sweetheart.
Silver Plate Tankard of No149 Squadron Interest, the heavy plated tankard by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, with engraved centre of squadron badge for 149 squadron and “FROM TWO PIG ISLANDERS F/LT L J DRUMMOND DFC F/O G A PATRICK FEB 1943”. Remains in good condition, dark patina. Flight Lieutenant Lindsey Johnston Drummond was awarded the DFC in 1943, the recommendation for the award is as follows, “Flying Officer Lindsay Johnston DRUMMOND (N.Z.413043), Royal New Zealand Air Force, No. 149 Squadron. Distinguished Flying Medal. N.Z.405487 Flight Sergeant William Leonard HARVEY, Royal New Zealand Air Force, No. 149 Squadron. One night in February, 1943, Flying Officer Drummond and Flight Sergeant Harvey were captain and wireless operator respectively of an aircraft detailed for a mine-laying mission in an area close in to shore. During the run-in, the aircraft was subjected to considerable searchlight activity and intense opposing fire which raked the bomber from front to rear. Much damage was sustained and three of the crew were hit, including Flight Sergeant Harvey, who suffered a deep wound in the head. Despite this, Flying Officer Drummond held on his course and released his mines exactly as planned. On the return flight, Flight Sergeant Harvey, although in pain and bleeding profusely, remained at his post, continuing his duties. He obtained a number of fixes and bearings which proved of great assistance to his captain who eventually flew the badly damaged aircraft to base. Both these members of aircraft crew, who have completed many sorties, have always displayed great determination, skill and devotion to duty”. A George Alfred Patrick of No149 Squadron was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross in June 1943.

Engraved to the centre with the crest of 149 Squadron and “PRESENTED TO THE OFFICERS 149 SQUADRON BY F/LT L H BUTLER DFC AND F/O H J SHIELD DFC R.N.Z.A.F AUGUST 1943”. Remains in good condition. Flight Lieutenant Lloyd Harry Butler was awarded his DFC in 1943 with 149 Squadron. Flight Lieutenant Harold John Shield was awarded the DFC in 1943 and a bar to the award in 1945 serving with 105 Squadron.

Hallmarked Silver Royal Aero Club Kings Cup Race 1938 Presentation Box Presented to Flight Lieutenant Hugo Moreton Waddington Thomas-Ferrand, Who Died on Active Service in 1945, engine turned case with gilded interior. Hallmarks to the edge for Birmingham 1939 and silversmiths mark of G S Twist. Lid is engraved with a flag in flight and “ROYAL AERO CLUB KINGS CUP RACE 1938 FL LIEUT H THOMAS-F------“, surname has been rubbed. Dimensions 8 ½ x 6 x 2cms. Hugo Moreton Waddington Thomas-Ferrand was born in 1913, Kensington, London. He took part in the Kings Cup Race in 1938. He was killed in 1945 serving with 614 Squadron, he was the rank of Wing Commander at the time of his death. He is buried at Tenby, Pembrokeshire.
Hallmarked Silver Tankard Presented to the Officers of 149 (B) Squadron by Flight Lieutenant D E Davies DFC AFC, the tankard with hallmarks for London 1939, engraved “To THE OFFICERS 149 (B) SQ From FLT LT D E DAVIES DFC, AFC, RAFVR Sept 1940-March 1941”. Some dents and wear. Squadron Leader Derek Edmund Davies went onto win a bar to his Air Force Cross. His DFC and AFC were both awarded in 1941 with 149 Squadron. He was also mentioned in despatches in 1941.
Great War Royal Air Force Aircraft Propeller Art Biscuit Barrel of RAF Upton Interest, fine quality barrel from multipieces of laminated wooden propeller with its original lid and silver shield to the centre having engraved RAF pilots wings and “E. P. M UPAVON SEP 1918”. Remains in very good overall condition. Royal Air Force Upavon or RAF Upavon is a former RAF station in Wiltshire, England. It was a grass airfield, military flight training school, and administrative headquarters of the Royal Air Force. The station opened in 1912 and closed in 1993
WW2 Royal Air Force No45 Squadron Badge, interesting, probably Middle East made, cast silver badge in the form of a winged camel with pin fitting to the reverse. 3 ½ cms in height. The winged camel insignia was approved for the squadron by Kings Edward VIII in October 1936. The camel was chosen due to the squadron using the Sopwith Camel during the majority of WW1 and also their association with the Middle East.
