Lot 683

Scarce Prussian Grenadiers Mitre Cap, having large white metal front plate and rear section with eagle to centre, trophy of arms and fused grenades etc. Scaled leather backed chinstraps. Red cloth bag with silver braid strips. Interior has an officers style leather sweatband and ribbed cloth lining, possibly for issue to an NCO. One small pin head hole to the cloth bag and white metal fittings have some of the brass underlay showing through in places. Overall a good example of a scarce item of Imperial German headdress.

Imperial German 6th Bavarian Chevaulegers Regiment Tunic, green cloth body with peach red stand up collar, piped front and cuffs. Collar with thick silver braid and white metal circular buttons with Bavarian Lion. Cuffs with line of braid and braid just above the cuff area. Plain crimson shoulder boards with chequered strip in the Bavarian state colours. Plain buttons to the plastron front, cuffs and skirt. Bavarian pattern rank chevron to the arm. Cloth lining to the interior which remains in good condition. Interior pocket having tailors label with inked name and date 20.12.01 (1901). Crimson slightly faded and dusty but otherwise good example.

Imperial German 1st Bavarian Uhlan Regiment Tunic (Ulanka), green body with crimson piping to the front, cuffs and stand up collar. Silver wire tress bordering the collar and cuffs. Removable crimson parade Rabatte. Crimson body with white metal fittings Uhlan pattern shoulder boards and domed white metal buttons with number “4” to centre. Plain white metal buttons to the plastron front and rear skirt. Bavarian lion buttons to the cuffs. Good condition cloth lining to the interior. Generally a very good example.

Imperial German Hussar Regiment No12 Tunic (Attila), cornflower blue body with silver braid frogging to the front and metal fittings. Stand up collar with heavy braid tress. Cuffs with knotted cord braid. Officers style shoulder board fitted with later WW2 type rank star. Grey cloth lining to the interior. Some areas of moth tracking and wear.

Third Reich SS Police Officers Dress Sword by Alcoso Solingen, fine example with nickel silver “D” shaped guard with top pommel fitting. Grip retaining the wire binding and copper Police pattern eagle set within the grip. Housed in its original black painted scabbard with metal mounts and single hanging ring. Top scabbard mounting having double rune acceptance stamp. Straight plain blade with fuller to the back edge. Alcoso makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Blade has some light staining but generally good condition. Blade measures 74 ½ cms, overall 89 ½ cms. Slight paint loss to the scabbard and dented making it slightly miss-shaped.

Luftwaffe Officers Dress Sword by David Malsch, early type example in nickel silver, top pommel with mobile swastika, blue leather covered grip retaining the wire binding and cross guard with mobile swastikas to each side having the remains of the gilt finish. Housed in the original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Double edged blade with central fuller to the top half of the blade. David Malsch, Steinbach makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some light staining to the blade but generally good condition. Blade measures 71 ½ cms, overall 99 ¾ cms.

Luftwaffe Officers Dress Sword by WKC, early nickel silver type with early copper based mobile swastika top pommel, blue leather covered grip with wire binding and cross guard with mobile swastikas to the centre. Housed in its original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver top and lower mounts. Attached to the scabbard is the original blue leather hanger. Polished double edged blade with fuller to the centre of the top half of the blade. WKC makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some surface staining to the blade and some plating lifting from the fittings but otherwise a good example. Blade measures 67 cms, overall 89 ½ cms.

Third Reich NSFK Flyers Dagger, being the early type with nickel silver top pommel, cross guard with black enamel swastika and scabbard mounts. The scabbard and handle have been re-covered in blue vinyl. Double edged blade with SMF makers trade mark. Blade has been shortened, measuring 16 cms, overall 33 cms. Ideal for parts or restoration.

Third Reich SA Dress Dagger by WKC (RZM), fine example of an RZM quality SA dress dagger with wooden gip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Plated cross guard and top mount. Housed in its brown painted scabbard with plated top mount and lower chape. Good condition double edged blade with motto to the centre, “Alles fur Deutschland”, revere of the blade having RZM makers trade mark RZM M7/42 for the maker WKC. Blade measures 22cms, overall 37 cms.

Third Reich NSKK Dress Dagger, being an example which is useful for parts, wooden handle has the enamel top emblem removed and nickel silver eagle de-nazified. Cross guard, top mount and top screw fitting remain in good condition. Anodised early scabbard with single hanging ring to the top mount. Double edged blade which has had the motto removed. Accompanied by three original SA / NSKK dagger blades, one with remains of Ernst Rohm inscription. Blades worn and polished. (4 items)

Large Formal Silver Plated Platter Liberated from the Reich Chancellery, large oval silver plated platter engraved with Political style eagle and swastika with “R K” (Reichskanzlei). Stamped to the reverse with makers details “WELLNER” and “156458”. Some scratches and blemishes to the plating. 54 x 36cms. This type of silverware was used at official functions held at the Reich Chancellery, often when not important events headed by Adolf Hitler and other important members of the Third Reich. Liberated from the Reich Chancellery by a member of the Grenadier Guards in 1945.

Third Reich 1939 Bar to the Iron Cross 1st Class, housed in its original leatherette case of issue with image of the award to the lid in silver leaf. The award itself retains much of the original silver frosted finish. Complete with its original pin and catch fixing to the reverse. The award is a non-numbered example. Officers silver bullion wire piping to the curtain. Black cloth lining with white stencilled size details present but worn. Evidence of service wear but generally good condition.

Allgemeine-SS NCO’s Peaked Service Cap, fine quality black wool peaked cap with white piping to the crown and bordering the central band. Cap is complete with its original patent chinstrap and fitted with matching early nickel silver cap insignias. Underside of the peak stamped with SS RZM mark. Leather sweatband to the interior and copper colour lining with celluloid diamond having gold leaf SS runes underneath. Under the sweatband is the original RZM label. The cap remains in very good overall condition showing just light service wear. Good example of this iconic item of WW2 Third Reich headdress.

Rare 1943 NSDAP Organisation Book, red board covers with silver leaf eagle and swastika and “Organisationsbuch der NSDAP”. Complete with the coloured plates detailing various items of uniform, insignia, flags etc. Damage to the spine and some wear.

Early Third Reich Desk Eagle, fine nickel silver eagle and swastika desk ornament mounted onto steeped base. The eagles feathers have been nicely scooped. Very unusual design for the eagle which would indicate that this is probably an early 1930’s period example. Stands 19 ¼ cms, eagle wing span 25 ½ cms.

Irish Hallmarked Silver Presentation Set of Lincolnshire Regiment Interest, consisting of a tea pot with presentation inscription to centre “PRESENTED TO OFFICERS MESS 1ST BATT LINCOLNSHIRE 10TH REGT BY Lieut E A Plunkett 1898”. The tea pot has hallmarked silver Sphinx mounted to the lid. Bottom of the tea pot has Irish silver hallmarks and makers details of E Johnson, Dublin, date mark for 1898. Accompanied by Irish hallmarked silver milk jug and sugar bowl, both by the same maker and date, both pieces also decorated with Sphinx to handles. Set remains in generally good condition. (3 items)

Regimental Mess Ware of the Lincolnshire Regiment Interest, including large silver plated dish cover with fine quality classical design handle with two lion heads, engraved to the centre of each side 10th Regt within laurel wreath, top scroll with “PENINSULA”, bottom scroll with “EGYPT” and Sphinx below; silver plated tea / coffee pot with engraved badge of the Royal North Lincoln Militia; Hallmarked silver presentation picture frame with remains of the decoration to the front present, two hallmarked silver figures of early members of the regiment in 18th century style uniform, the reverse of the frame has engraved presentation which has been well worn but appears to read, “PRESENTED TO COL P----- & THE OFFICERS 2nd BATTN X REGT BY LIEUT F G LLOYD & J P TEMPLER ON PROMOTION 1ST JULY 1881”, hallmarks have been well polished so can not date and figures loose on plinths.
