Crowned star mounted with wreathed Garter; the black velvet centre, mounted with St. George and the Dragon with “Quo Fata Vocant” scroll. Mounted on the base of the wreath, a tri-part scroll inscribed “The Northumberland Fusiliers” with supplementary scroll below “1st Volunteer Battalion”. Three loops to reverse. VGC HQ at Hexham. The Battalion wore light grey cloth Home Service Pattern helmets.

Silver quoit engraved with Ducal Crown resting on four part scroll “Hindoostan Sevastopol Cape of Good Hope Central India”, thistle wreath; to the base provision for Officer’s monogram beneath. The centre set with a facetted glass foiled citrine. Stout pin fixing to reverse. VGC

Quoit with engraved edge mounted with thistle wreath bearing 28 battle honours to “Tel El Kabir”. To the centre, a cut silver Star of the Order of the Thistle; mounted on the Star a curled bugle horn with gilt Imperial Crown, “HLI” monogram; “Assaye” scroll and Elephant. Original stout pin to reverse which bears maker’s logo of a thistle. VGC

An example of the finest quality, scarce pre 1881 unmarked silver hollow plaid worn by an Officer of the Highland Borderers Light Infantry Militia (Stirling, Dumbarton, Clackmannan & Kinross). Burnished silvered quoit mounted with rope edge and thistle decoration in high relief secured by eight screw posts. Rope edged circlet to centre inscribed “Highland Borderers”. Stout pin to reverse. VGC Highland Borderers Light Infantry Militia became 3rd Bn. Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders on Friday 1st July 1881
Badge. 9th (East Norfolk) Regiment of Foot Officer’s Belltop shako plate circa 1829-44. An extremely fine and exceedingly scarce example of the first pattern. Large rich fire gilt crowned star mounted with a cut silver star, To the centre, within a gilt laurel wreath, Britannia with sprig of laurel to raised right hand, over “IX” set on a domed black enamel ground; the wreath entwined with dead gilt scroll bearing honours. Reverse retains both original horizontal loops; fixing wires to reverse of crown and lower ray. VGC

Royal Marine Light Infantry Colour Sergeant’s rank badge circa 1902-23. A good example of scarlet cloth embroidered with bullion laurel wreath (now silver colour); within the wreath, a padded bullion Globe set on crossed silk Union flags surmounted by a bugle horn, in turn surmounted by a crown. Between the base of the Globe and that of the wreath, a bullion fouled anchor; beneath the wreath, a pair of crossed sabres. A little service wear. GC The Royal Marine Light Infantry amalgamated with the Royal Marine Artillery in 1923 to form The Royal Marines.

A scarce set by J & Co (Jennens) bearing ensuite Birmingham hallmarks. Whistle boss of 14 leaves bearing battle honours with Dragon to centre, two strand chain, Egyptian Pharaoh head whistle and thistle mounted whistle holder. Screw posts to reverse. All VGC.
