Hertz, national standard mark for 1937, assay master Jens Sigsgaard, engraved with a crowned ‘CX’ (for King Christian X) above ‘Cannes 1939’, 15.5cm (6in) high, 369g (11.85 oz). Christian X was a noted yachtsman competing in regattas at Cannes during the 20s and 30s. This is perhaps a regatta trophy.

A hammered silver compressed tea pot and hotwater pot by John Phillips Steele, the tea pot London 1942, the hotwater pot London 1947, with spike finials to the domed covers and walnut loop handles, the tea pot 27cm (10.5in) long, the hotwater pot 16.5cm (6.5in) high, 1060g (34 oz) gross. Steele was an artist/craftsman working in Letchworth Garden City. He was a member of Welwyn Craftworkers Guild.
