A Danish Art Deco silver coloured flared tall beaker by Carl M. Cohr, Fredericia, retailed by the Court jewellers P. Hertz, national standard mark for 1937, assay master Jens Sigsgaard, engraved with a crowned ‘CX’ (for King Christian X) above ‘Cannes 1939’, 15.5cm (6in) high, 369g (11.85 oz). Christian X was a noted yachtsman competing in regattas at Cannes during the 20s and 30s. This is perhaps a regatta trophy.
