An interesting Malaysian silver coloured metal cigarette box, the body chased and engraved with floral motifs, the sides display applied crests of fourteen Malaysian states/federal territories, the lid bears a larger applied Malaysian national crest flanked by two tigers beneath which is engraved the national motto ‘Bersekutu Bertambah Mutu’ (Unity is Strength). Maker’s mark ARH to the base.
A 19th century French sewing etui enclosed in a walnut, late 19th century, the hinged halves enclosing an interior fitted with engraved and embossed silver coloured mounted accessories, comprising a thimble, a pair of scissors, a needle, a bodkin etc (damage, losses). Condition Report: The walnut shell is badly damaged and cracked. The interior is missing a thimble.
A late Victorian silver mounted black leather cigarette case by Asprey, hallmarked London, 1895, and stamped 'Asprey. 166 New Bond Street', together with a continental ivory and leather cigar case with engraved and pierced silver coloured mounts. Condition Report: Ivory - long crack to edge of front plate. Slight damage to pierced silver edging. Interior lining good if faded, and filled with cigars. Asprey - very good overall condition. Some slight scrapes to leather interior. Working catch, springs open. Interior in excellent condition with silver strongly hallmarked.
